Kristy H (1252 KP) rated The Almost Moon in Books

I really wanted to like this book. I wanted to ignore the (bad) hype and enjoy it, I really did. I really enjoyed "The Lovely Bones," and I'd like to think I went in to the story with an open mind, despite all the bad press. But I just couldn't do it... it wasn't even the subject matter, as much as the fact that I just didn't like it. I didn't like the story and I had no empathy for the main character. I know we were supposed to read about her childhood and feel sorry for her, but I didn't. I couldn't identify with her, I didn't like her, and I just couldn't get into the story she was telling. I only finished the book because it was like a train wreck... I just couldn't turn away.

406. Parasite. We meet Kim Ki-woo, as he's getting recruited to help tutor a high school girl in English, of course all his past experience is a lie, but he's good at the job at hand so why not go for it! And once he's in the door, he manages to weasel the rest of his family jobs within the same household. It's not that they are bad at the jobs, they just stole them from others. For instance, when Kim Ki-woo gets mom, Moon-gwang the maid job. However the former maid has a secret and when she shows up a few days later on the front steps, this could be the end for the family! Movie really makes you feel uncomfortable, and for me I just wanted something really bad to happen. :) Filmbufftim on FB

I really enjoyed this movie. I saw it in theaters when it first came out and enjoyed it then and I've found myself watching it every once in a while just to revisit it. I really love the cast, I love the plot, I love the lightheartedness of it all. I don't think it's such a bad thing that it's not a movie that particularly pushes your brain to think too much. I like that it's a comedy and even more that they read Fifty Shades of Grey. I think the jokes are 10 times funnier if you've read those books because they make so much more sense.
It's a fun, lighthearted film that I'm sure will make you laugh - either because you think it's funny or because you think it's bad. Either way, a laugh is a laugh, right?

Awix (3310 KP) rated Interlude (1968) in Movies
Apr 22, 2020 (Updated Apr 22, 2020)
Low-octane drama set in (barely) swinging London. A young reporter becomes the mistress of a temperamental conductor (orchestra, not bus) - she knows it's a bad idea, he knows it's a bad idea, but hey, hormones, I guess. Sure enough, everyone ends up unhappy.
Good-looking but vacuous, a sort of Hampstead novel of a movie, with the personal issues of affluent Londoners raised to a level of towering significance. The whole thing is in such lethal good taste it sucks any potential life out of the story (on the other hand you can have fun playing guess-the-body-part during the slightly baffling sex scenes). Passes the time but very predictable; very early appearances by John Cleese and Derek Jacobi pique the interest. The music and theme song are considerably better than the rest of the film deserves.

Mark Halpern (153 KP) rated Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) in Movies

Remake
For a remake of one of my favorite movies it wasn't too bad. Hardy does a pretty good job in his adaptation of being Max. The story and stunts in the movie are good. The premise sticks with the original version of the Mel Gibson era movies. Not much I would change just needed better all around cast and acting to give it a better grade.
Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: Circular Time in Books
Jan 12, 2018
4 short stories make up Big Finish's first foray into anthology storytelling, and there isn't a bad one in the bunch. Outstanding storytelling, great acting (especially by my favorite guest star, David Warner) a deepening of the special relationship that five and Nyssa share, and a finale to die for. This might be my favorite Fifth Doctor story of the line thus far. Great audio!

Amazing first story
This is the first story to this series and I am head over heels in love with it. It's not a fluffy and sweet read.. It is harsh and hard and bad things happen.. but so many good good things happen as well. I love these boys.. and I am head over heels for Josh. He is perfection. This is an amazing story.

Gaston was bad ass but still guiltily lovable
loves it!
I'll be honest this was my favourite Disney movie and I was worried the movie would suck. So when it was AMAZING I cried in the movie theater along with every other female in the cinema at the time it was great!

Alright could have been better
While Wonder Women (2017) was an improvement upon the other DCEU films it still was found lacking in spots. The use of green screen was obvious in certain spots. The villain while built up to being the big bad god of war the reveal of being a pale British man made it a bit more humourish then what it should have been.

A New Take On An Outbreak
From the trailer for this i thought no, give it a miss, looks bad. Then Netflix kept recomending it to me until i buckled. I'm so glad i buckled, this is so funny and different from what you expect. Very funny characters and situations, just the look on the fathers face does it for me.
