The book kept me intrigued but I grew tired of the main character. I understand the reason for his silence but it was also frustrating as you just wanted him to help especially when another boy went missing. I was so relived when he finally started talking.
It was interesting to see how families and people are affected when people go missing. This is the part you don't really read about in the books.
There was more than 1 thing going on in the family's lives so it wasn't all about Evan.
Anyone who likes crime should give this a read.
I gave the book a rad based on the blurb and it did exceed it.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

Whether you are a believer in the paranormal or not you shall enjoy reading this book. This is a very well written story and it is based around the authors’ own experience he had living in a haunted house in Wales. The writer had over 20 years’ worth of evidence. There are incidents and events that still linger long after you finish reading that will keep you thinking long into the night.
This book for me is just brilliant and I love the paranormal as I grew up in a haunted house and have my own experiences as well. This book just grabs you and doesn’t let go. The atmosphere of the book is not for the faint hearted and easily scared but if you are be sure to read with all the lights on. You simply cannot go wrong if what you're looking for is an intense and spooky story.
Many thanks to John Hunt Publishing and Net Galley for an ARC.

This read is a grimm retelling story and is very dark and magical. The author, Margaret Owen, based this book on the "The Goose Girl" which I have never heard of or read. This retelling is also a series so there is another book after this one which is the first of the series. I'd also categorize this retelling as LGBTQ+ which I love. I have no idea what Goose Girl is about but the idea of there being a more woke version is AMAZING to me <3<3<3 Bring on the next book please!
