Got me back into reading
I was an avid reader when I was younger. Nowadays I work hard and switch my brain off at night when possible. I wanted to make better use of my time and this app has really got me back into reading.

I set myself a target of 15 books in a year and I'm on target to get there. Its interesting to see other people's ratings of the books I've read and rewarding to see the bar creep up.

As well as the challenge bar the progress bar for each book has been essential for motivating me to pick a book back up.. And maybe its just me, but I don't like to record a book as read if I haven't finished it. Not read any real howlers this year though.

All and all a great app. Helps me remember what I've read for more than 5 seconds as well.

I watched the film of Annihilation ages ago and really liked it. I’ve always meant to read it (and the rest of the series) but just didn’t get round to it. After being offered the 4th book in the series, I panicked and bought the first 3 (like I do). Then I read a review of the 4th book that said I only really needed to read the 1st book to understand what was going on in the 4th. Based on this book (and I’ve since read the 4th - review to follow!), I will probably read the 2nd and 3rd books at some point.

It’s spooky, weird and wonderful - horror at its heart! I loved how this incorporeal being is able to take over humans minds and bodies, driving them mad. Extra-terrestrial or spiritual/ demonic? Who knows, and I hope we don’t find out because it makes it that much more terrifying.

It’s a really tense, frightening book, and I loved it.

Snooze fest
I decided to watch this film because i enjoy horrors and the trailer made it look good. However i watched an hour of it then has to turn it off as it was extremely boring and slow paced. I did go back to it the next day to finish it as i wanted to know how it ended. I hoped it would pick up and be scary but sadly it wasnt. There where bits that seemed like they were supposed to be scary but they just weren't. The story seemed interesting but it left a lot of questions and didnt explain what was going on. As its based on a book i feel like the book may be better. However i havent read the book.
