"Like Orlando, I wrote poetry. In my adolescent fantasy I read this book and believed it was a hallucinogenic, interactive biography of my own life and future. For me, this trifle of phantasmagoria has always been a practical manual. A tourist guide to human experience, the best of wise companions. At least, it was my first: a message in a bottle from an imaginary friend."

"This book is the best insight into unknowable Russia, a country I’ve been fascinated by since I studied its language and literature at school and university. It’s the pretend biography of a real-life Russian contrarian, poet, politician, anti hero and punk, Edward Limonov, whose life has shadowed Putin’s and who is now one of Putin’s biggest apologists. It’s a totally brilliant, badass book."

"I am just starting this magnificent new biography of Paracelsus. Ball, who is almost as much a polymath as his subject, brings out not only the extraordinary intellect and character of the man, but all the intellectual and social and political currents of the 16th century. Even before finishing it, I can tell that this book will take its place among my favorite half-dozen science biographies."

Down the river
Been meaning to see for a while but can't say it particularly grabbed me. Based on a true story of a skier who got injured and begins a high stakes poker game.
I like poker but it doesn't actually feature much on the poker games. More of a biography of her. Not the most interesting story, one for Jessica Chastain fans.

Cece's latest biography subject is Agatha Christie. But instead of beefing up the section on Agatha's real life disappearance, she's investigating the mysterious death of someone at the Agatha themed community Christietown. Slow at times as the book follows other things in Cece's life, but a fun addition to the series.

"I like Franklin’s biography by Isaacson, it’s really good. He was an entrepreneur, he started of nothing, just like a runaway kid. It was interesting to see how he is creating his business, then go to science and politics. I could say he is one of the people I most admire. Franklin is pretty awesome. He did what needed to be done at the time it needed to be done."

"For good measure, and because of its brilliance, I include Douglas Botting’s biography of Maxwell, as the Germans say, “in partnerlook.” An immersive portrait of a fascinating and haunting man, traveler, naturalist, shark fisherman, art historian, bon viveur, classical romantic adventurer and tragic hero of his own high drama. A great life story, written by a friend, of a life lived with legendary vigor, idealistic courage and a heartbreaking undertow."

One of the handiest apps
This is always one app I download straight away! Absolutely love it. Has a very vast database and you can almost always find the name of practically every extra in anything and oftentimes can find uncredited people.

Most pages have a full biography of actors and crew alike. More popular people have lots of photos too. It also comes in handy for trivia and when you recognise someone and just can't figure out why.

It's easy to use and all pages for TV shows have an episode list complete with original release dates. Episode pages also exist with a generalisation of the plot, often having more than one written by other people.

Only downside is that sometimes the biography doesn't have enough information on but a name can be all that's needed for a Google search.

100% recommend to everyone!

Alice I Have Been

This fictional biography follows the life of Alice Liddell. Her childhood friendship with the adult Charles Dodgson gives him the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland. The writing was very descriptive, but I was very creeped out by the way their relationship was portrayed. It doesn't say anything unseemly happened, but it still really bothered me.

I was lucky enough to be able to read this book for one of my college courses regarding Bruce Lee. My professor was using both this biography and Bruce Thomas' biography to shed some light on Bruce Lee's life. I actually used your book as a reference for my research paper for the class. It was very interesting to see the differences and similarities in both this account and Thomas' about Lee's life. This book was actually very beneficial for when I had to write a research paper about Bruce Lee.

I enjoyed being able to see another side of Bruce Lee. Since most accounts only show him as being the bad ass martial artist he was, it was interesting to be able to see a softer and more human side to him rather than the mythic Bruce Lee that is so prevalent in society today.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about Bruce Lee and his life outside of the image we see today.
