Saw esque thriller that has its moments.
Having read the synopsis I was expecting a standard thriller with the usual twist or two (which this one does have) but this was actually an ok film in parts. It sets itself up with a Saw like premise (bunch of strangers..a game that needs to be played) but unlike saw it doesn't rely on blood and gore to dispatch of each player.
The games they are made to play to survive are fairly simple and not taxing on their brain. The characters are fairly one dimensional but I guess most are in these kind of films.
Expect to see a sequel sometime soon.

Original Vampire Film
A very cool, unique and classy vampire film. It's 9 years from now and nearly everyone is a vampire. However with not so many humans around producing blood the vampires are starving and becoming more like mindless bat-like creatures. Is there a way to save both vampires and humans?
I really like the ideas behind the vampire world and how life and technology has adapted to their needs. A good cast, slick visual effects, some bloody scenes and a pretty good story that is more original than most, move this towards the top of the food-chain for Vampire films!

If you saw the 2nd film then you know what to fear in this 3rd installment. As with most direct to DVD low budget horror sequels, expect bad acting, more gore and nudity. This cast line up does have a few familiar faces in it but the acting is pretty hammy.
The cgi effects for the crocs and blood is really poor. Despite all that it probably just about surpasses the 2nd film, at least the story line this time has a bit more action. One for the low budget horror fans to laugh at!

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Mozart's Blood in Books

I really enjoyed this book. It combines two of my favorite things. Mozart and Vampires. It was a different read for me and I enjoyed the different representation of vampires. It was not all seduction or all blood. I think the one thing that made this book fascinating to me is that I was very fortunate to see Don Giovanni performed and that helped me understand the book more and relate the book to the play. This was a good read that combines opera, vampires, and surviving life.
I would definitely recommend this book to individuals who enjoy opera (especially Don Giovanni) and vampires.

I listened to audio of this - and it was spectacular. I don't think I would have rated this book as high had I not listened to the audio of it.
The story was a bit old ......stuff I've read before - a bit boring - but alas, it's a bit middle grade and I'm used to more fast paced exciting blood and guts - but it was still fun to listen to - epic-ly fun to listen to - my first book with full cast and boy was it worth it! I will look for more books like that because wow..........just, listen to the audio you wont be disappointed!

David McK (3557 KP) rated Odin's Wolves in Books

The final(?) novel in Giles Kristian's Raven series of books, this continues - and, maybe, ends - the story first began in Raven: Blood Eye.
Again presented as the older titular character retelling the tale of his younger years, this sees Sigurds wolf-pack of the sea continue their voyage, moving down now into Europe proper, before experiencing Rome and finally ending the tale in the city of Miklagard (i.e. Constantinople). If you've read any of the precious entries in the series, you'd know pretty much what to expect: however, and somewhat unfortunately, I have to say that I felt this particular entry to out-stay it's welcome somewhat.
