A gripping thriller and considering it incorporates a lot of my usually least favorite themes (missing kid, unfaithful partners...) it speaks a lot to how good a writer Hillier is. that I bombed through this once I started it.

The lives of the rich and stylish often grate but I was fully in for celebrity hair stylish Marin's turbulent existence following the abduction of her young son.

This book went in unexpected directions and despite some eyebrow-raising coincidences kept me on board for the whole journey.

Movie Favorite Watch

"I was obsessed with the video Spike Jonze made for the Björk song “It’s Oh So Quiet.” When I heard he had made a movie, I couldn’t wait to see it. I fell in love with the world he created and all the unusual rules that came with it. I was so on board and wanted to go wherever he and Charlie Kaufman wanted to take me. Watching this movie was the first time I became aware of Catherine Keener (I was slow to discover Walking and Talking). I could not take my eyes off her."

A sequl (of sorts) that nobody asked for, I have to say that this was better than expected!

Updating the board game of the original to a video game, this sees four teens on detention sucked into the world of Jumanji, taking on the appearance (or avatars) of Dwayne Johnson (perhaps better known to wrestling fans as The Rock), Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black and having to complete the Jumanji test to return to the 'real' world, bondign along the way (as is customary in these types of films) and learning more about themselves and each other.

Much better than you might think

Bag building / pulling is one of my favourite mechanics, this doesnt offer anything that new but what it does , it does well !
Making potions is something anyone can get on board with and the simplicity of the actions means its easily teachable!
The subtlety in the strategy is interesting and replay value is pretty high !
Some negatives may be that some might feel luck has a higher roll than they would like and interaction among players is low !
But ultimately i think its a fun game and worth a look ! 🙂
