An anthology of horror stories commissioned by producer Jason Blum ("Paranormal Activity", "Insidious", "Sinister", "The Purge"), and written by many of the people who made those films with him, sounds like a pretty genius idea. Unfortunately, it turns out to be more than a little less so in actuality. Don't get me wrong, most of the stories here are pretty decent at the very least, and many contain interesting ideas, but there is one all-important thing missing across the board: fear. While there is no shortage of creepy imagery, upsetting situations and gore, at no point did any of these actually scare me. Some of the stories were so lacking in any sense of suspense that it was hard not to wonder if they were actually even horror. All in all it's not a bad read, but it's hard not to come out of this at least somewhat disappointed.

not for beginners, the game gets better the more you play and understand what's going on.
Really good game, tight choices, can't possibly do all that you want before the game ends.
Despite the slight drawbacks this is a great worker placement game. 4 players is definitely better than 2 players. There were many times I wanted a spot and someone took it before me, which is part of what makes a great worker placement game. The theme works, but isn't really important. There are many paths to victory, you just need to optimize the one you choose.

Murder Visits Egypt
Hercule Poirot is on vacation in Egypt, just looking to relax. However, he quickly gets involved in the drama involving a young heiress on her honeymoon. When a murder happens on board the ship they are all traveling on, Poirot finds himself drawn into the case. Can he unravel what really happened?

This is classic Agatha Christie with an extremely complex mystery that seems so simple once Poirot unravels it all. I did feel the book took a bit too long to truly get started, opening as it does a few months before the events really began. But once it does, hold on. Some of the supporting cast could have been stronger, but the main characters were all strong and kept me confused until the end. Agatha Christie is still a master of the mystery genre, and this book shows exactly why.
