Really good documentary from HBO on Andre the Giant. Doctors may say his heart failed because it couldn't keep up with his ever growing body size, but I feel like it was because it couldn't handle the huge amount of love he had in his heart, for wrestling and for life.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2103 KP) rated A Watery Grave (Wiki Coffin Mysteries #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The first in a historical mystery series set during the US Exploration Expedition of the early 1800's. Wiki Coffin, half New Zealander half American, is hired to be a linguist. But the night before they sail, Wiki finds a boat with a dead body inside. The woman was murdered, and there is reason to believe that the killer is with the expedition, especially when another body turns up. The historic details slowed the book down at times, but on the whole I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and the trip back in time.

Barry Newman (204 KP) rated Videodrome (1983) in Movies

This early slice of Cronenberg body horror is one hell of a weird film and serious hallucinogenic drugs must have certainly been consumed during it's production. One thing it's not though is boring , James Woods is a great bit of casting as Max Renn the sleazy TV producer getting mixed up in the world of the titular channel and experiencing the after effects of watching too much. It's an absorbing watch even if at times you feel as bewildered as Wood's character is. Cronenberg's nightmarish visuals , a strange hybrid of the body and television look how most 1980's special effects look in 2019 but are certainly memorable and stay with you long after the film has finished.

Wasted strong cast (3 more)
Terrible plot
Boring generic characters

Some body make it stop
Oh lord these films keep getting worse. I had high hopes after First Class, but Brian Singer has insisted on tainting this story as well. Full rant filled podcast review on the blog.
With animal rights and hunters at her inn, Magdalena has her hands full before a dead body turns up. The mystery comes late and is light, but the characters are fun.
