Ducklady (1174 KP) rated A Dance with Dragons: Part 1: Dreams and Dust in Books
Sep 2, 2019
Felt like nothing really happened in this book. Read through the whole series and felt like it was a bit of a slog, but entertaining none the less. But when I got to this book I felt like it was longer than it should have been and I couldn't even finish it. It didn't capture my interest at all. Ridiculous that the last book hasn't even been released yet or even have an estimated date.

Pacing
I enjoyed this book. There are a few rough spots that smooth out eventually, mostly dealing with character voices. This makes sense as he mostly writes in first person and switching to third is hard. It's a builder book so there's a lot of world building and terms can be confusing until later on in the book. I hope he continues with this series.

THE FEELS
ACoMaF is my favourite book of the three in this series! There is so much more action, making the pacing faster. I liked ACoTaR well enough (though I felt there was much to be desired), but this second book blew me away.
I wasn't very fond of Feyre in the first book, but she grew on me in this one. I didn't really like Tamlin, and I was delighted to find my instincts were right. I also was intrigued by Rhysand in the first book, and he quickly became one of my favourites. I really liked the new characters Maas introduced in this one. I found them to be memorable.
If you got through ACoTaR but didn't particularly like it, I urge you to peek into this book and see if it piques your interest. I know a lot of people who felt lukewarm about the first book, but ended up being HUGE fans of this series because of this second book!

TravelersWife4Life (31 KP) rated Mail-Order Mishaps: 4 Brides Adapt When Marriage Plans Go Awry in Books

Great book about using the situations God puts you in for good :)
The fisrt story in this book is about a bride who steps off the trail and finds her soon to be husband in jail. Definitely a mishap. I loved how the lead character wasn't afraid to help and go out of her comfort zone.
The second book is one of my favorite books in the series. Its about a young couple set upon by a matchmaker. A wonderful about healing families.
The third book is about a bride who was tricked and had to make her way again, a great story.
Finally the forth book, what a lovely way to end a series!!! A fiery Irish red head who needs to escape her situation and uses the opportunity God gave her to escape. When she gets there she meets a Swedish man .... so cool.
I would highly recommend reading this book :)
I volunteered to read this book from Barbour Publishing in return for my honest feed back. The opinions expressed within are my own.

Merissa (12128 KP) rated Shadowed (Hollow City Coven #2) in Books
Apr 19, 2023
The second book in the Hollow City Coven series continues where Book 1 left off. Gillian and Shayne are together, sort of, as they travel to try and find more information about Tenebris. Gillian has a starting point, but the Midnight Market is not for the faint of heart.
With an FF kiss, and some steamy action from Gillian and Shayne, this book continues to be hot and steamy. However, this instalment is also mysterious and suspenseful. It also comes complete with an ending that leaves you wanting the next book in this series immediately.
For everything that you do, there is a price to pay. Is Gillian's price for going to the Midnight Market going to be too high? I certainly hope not but I am looking forward to Book 3 to find out. Definitely recommended.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book; the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Phenomenal
This book saved my life. Though this wasn't the first book published in the series, it's where the story truly begins. For fans of Drizz't Do'Urden who haven't started with this book, it's the best place to get to know our favorite Dark Elf. This book explores his childhood starting with the day of his birth and moving through everything that made him leave his home and take the first steps on what becomes an amazing journey.

Leah (: (569 KP) rated The Eagle (Spy Girl book 2) in Books
Jul 12, 2018
Book 2 in the Spy Girl series is just as fast paced and action packed as the first.
The format of the book is very similar to the first, the mission takes place over about 5 days. Also similar is that the book concludes the mission Huntley was on, however it still leaves many unanswered questions about her life and identity.
I enjoyed this book just as much as the first as we got to know the characters better and see more of their glamorous lives.
