Merissa (12128 KP) rated Rhodes (Angelbound Offspring #4) in Books
Dec 17, 2019
Rhodes is the fourth book in the Angelbound Offspring series, and continues the story featuring Rhodes and Zinnia.
Zinnia is still living in the tower and visited by Rhodes whenever possible, which is difficult in itself as he is currently undergoing training. Huntress and Kaps, plus all the band members, help with Zinnia's idea on how to end things once and for all.
Rhodes is definitely a continuation to Zinnia, so even if you don't read the others (but why?), you should definitely read that one, otherwise you won't have the faintest idea about all the subtleties and nuances that are there. The world-building is just as good as all the others, and the connection between Rhodes and Zinnia is stronger than ever. Kaps doesn't play as big a part in this book, which I was thankful for. A favourite character of mine is Bash though. I would love for him to have a bigger role.
All in all, this was a great addition to the series that I thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait to continue the series, and have no hesitation in recommending both the book and the series.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Merissa (12128 KP) rated The Vessel (Semiramis #3) in Books
Feb 14, 2019
The Vessel (Semiramis, #3) by Maya Daniels
The Vessel is the third book in the Semiramis series, and once again, we continue where we left off. Alexia and her sisters (plus others) are reunited; they still have the tablets to find; and now Alexia is dealing with Lucifer too.
This series has completely enthralled me. I dropped what I was reading, to read this. Trust me, that NEVER happens. I am a monogamist reader!!! Except... I NEEDED to know what happened. Now, I'm not saying this book was perfect (although it came damn near close). Did I have questions at the end? Yes, I did. Did it matter or impact my enjoyment of this book? Absolutely not.
The wit, banter, and love is full throttle in this book, and one of the bits I loved most was when everyone thought Alexia was angry, and instead she was grief stricken. Her explanation was perfect! There are surprises aplenty in this book, and I will admit to crying throughout what felt like three-quarters of the book!!! The characters have drawn me in over the three books - becoming real in my mind. I laughed with them, and so therefore I cried with them too. ?
Now, this is the last book in this trilogy, but it can't be the end. It simply can't. I refuse to admit it. I NEED more, like at least another three book set! I won't say anymore as I don't want to give out any spoilers, but read it for yourself, and you'll see what I mean.
I have loved this #Fantasy #Romance series, and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending either this book, or the series.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Dark Alpha's Demand: A Reaper Novel in Books
Feb 13, 2018
I don't recommend this as a stand alone, there's just too much going on from previous books in the reaper series and also the fabulous dragon king series. Saying that, this is the first book I've read in the reaper series and I did enjoy it. I'm going to have to read the others to get a few things straight and I'm loving death, who'd have thought he'd be a she! Talin and Neve is a great story and I hope the evil Bran gets what's coming to him soon

I had watched the series and was intrigued to hear the story from Piper's POV, in her own words. There are scenes in the series taken right out of the book, word for word, but there were a lot of differences as well.
Piper is portrayed in the show as a selfish jerk. In the book, she was the complete opposite. I get that drama has to be added in order to make the show more appealing, but the story as told in the book is an interesting insight into this woman who, through stupid choices in her youth, was incarcerated and faced with the harsh realities of life in prison and the struggles of her fellow inmates.

fantastic read
This is the forth book in this series by this author. This is a sports romance read. this book can be read as a stand alone read or as part of the series. This story is fun, steamy and is perfectly written. Amazing well written characters which you will fall in love with as you read. The banter between the main characters is laugh out loud funny. This is another amazing read from this author, which will have you hooked from the first page. I can' t wait to read more from this author in the future.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Seeing Red (Hearts and Minds, #3) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
Book 3 of the series and I would recommend that you read the previous books before starting this as it is not stand alone. It's written well, a little confusing as I don't know who all the characters are as I've not read any others in the series. Not much happens in the book, Meg marries Seth mainly to show the media she's moving on with her Life after Spike and then Meg and Seth decide to give the sham marriage a go. The End. Really, that's it! Could really have done with a little more action in the book for me as I found it boring in the end and couldn't wait to finish it.

What an incredibly fabulous book!! I devoured the first two books in the series and Alexei & Talia's story sucked me in from page one! My heart broke over and over for these two, both two haunted souls unable to move beyond their pasts. Struggling to feel worthy in anyone's eyes... Talia finds strength in his overpowering dominance and in her he finds solace. A dark yet incredibly beautiful book about two people who slowly come to realize that no matter how screwed up any of us are, we are all worthy of love and forgiveness. HIGHLY recommended book, series and author!! Five stars just aren't doing my heart any justice on this one!? ;-)
