Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Books
Mar 9, 2018
I finally got around to rereading the second in the series. I love the characters and overall story, but these books sure do start slowly. Fortunately, she manages to work in most of the seemingly random things later in the book this time around.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated Resort to Murder (Henrie O, #6) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Henrie O. is attending a wedding in Bermuda that is plagued by a ghost and murder. The plot got sluggish at times, but for the most part it moved along well. The characters were much more real than the last book in the series, too.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated Beware False Profits (Ministry is Murder Mystery, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Minister's wife Aggie Sloan-Wilcox has two problems in the third in the series. First, a member of the congregation vanishes. Then the mayor's wife is murdered. Is there a connection? Lots of great twists and very real characters made this book hard to put down.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated The Middleman: The Collected Series Indispensability in Books
Mar 9, 2018
I loved the TV series based on this from summer of 2008 and had to see how it began. The three stories collected in this book did form the basis of three episodes. Definitely worth reading for fans of comic books or the TV show.

Brad and Ashleigh head to a teddy bear show. But everything isn't cheery when a designer about to sign a big contract turns up dead. Once again, the book was lots of fun with great characters and interesting story. I love this series.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated The Red Trailer Mystery (Trixie Belden, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Jim's run off, and it's up to Trixie and Honey to find him. But trailer thieves and a family on the run complicate things. A very fun book with great characters. And it includes one of my all time favorite scenes in the series, too.

Mar 9, 2018
Puzzle Lady Cora Felton is getting married again. But the engagement has just happened when her husband to be starts receiving threatening puzzles. As always, this book is fun with lots of stuff happening. However, the ending is rushed, a common flaw of the series.

Mar 9, 2018
The local men's chorus is hoping to win the upcoming cultural festival thanks to a world famous tenor who has returned to his hometown. However, he's a jerk who manages to get murdered. This third book oozes the charming characters and fun mystery of the first two in the series.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated No Place to Run (KGI, #2) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
Maya Banks has done it again, No place to run is the second in the KGI series and this is Sam and Sophie story. I think this is better than the first one and a was hooked from page one so i've no choice be to start book 3. I really love there sorts of book, a romance with thrills and suspense all the way.
Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated In Plain Sight (WeHo #11) in Books
Jun 11, 2018
It was like a wonderful reunion with old friends to get a new WeHo book! As usual Hancock has created complex characters that all mesh together. The issues the characters deal with are realistic. In this book in particular I liked the use of font for flashback. If there was ever a series I could read more than one it would be this one.
