“The Road” takes us on the post-apocalyptic story of the man, played by Viggo Morganson and the boy (Kodi Smit-McPhee), a father and son doing their best to get along in a world which is no longer suitable for humanity. Constantly teaching his son survival skills and doing his best not to focus on his lost love the man attempts to explain the essence of humanity to his boy who has never known a better world. Add in the ever-present threat of cannibals and you have the film adaptation of this best selling book.
The echoed use of color takes the viewer directly into the unnamed devastation that riddles the world of our two heroes. Moreover, the small sounds from the creeks of not quite abandoned buildings to the harrowing screams of cannibal victims make the world of “the Road” wholly engrossing. Maybe that is the problem.
Riddled with themes of devastation, survival, faith, and family, “The Road” is a piece of cinema significantly different from anything else. With all that said I am not sure this was a horrific and arduous journey one needs to go through.
After I first saw it I didn’t like “The Road”, and I couldn’t figure out who would want to watch this film. Too mature for many audiences and appearing to lack the complication to appeal to intellectual film crowd, it took a few days for me to develop the merit of the film. Now, I can’t stop thinking about the string of moments presented as powerful small scenes that compose “The Road” even though I wish I could.
If you have read the book, then “The Road” delivers a vivid understanding of the story, but before paying to see the film I ask you, is that a story you really want to experience on screen?

First off a warning, Cooties is a Zombie film where the zombies are children so, if you don't like violence against children than this really isn't the film for you.
Clint (Elijah Wood) moves back to his home town to work on his book and takes a job as a substitute teacher at his old school. On his first day a virus breaks out that turns all the children into zombies. Clint and the other teachers fight to escaper the school and find out what is happening.
Cooties is quite a self aware film, in one of the first scenes Clint askes his mother what she thought of his book and she tells him that the the characters are unlikable, the plot makes no sense and it's boring, the first one of those is true, most of the characters are unlikable, at least at the start of the film. The pre-zombie children are brats and the teachers range from meek to bullies. Making the children unlikable is necessary because of what happens later.
Some of the teachers do undergo character growth, as I said they start off unlikable but a few of them become more likeable as we find out what made them become teachers and how they react to the situation.
Saying that though, Cooties is not an overly cleaver film, it's a zombie film that uses horror tropes; people are trapped in small rooms, there are air vents, people get eaten and, despite how it starts there is no big message to the film. I say despite how it starts because I did think that it was going to be a big 'Anti Meat' film but any sigh of that is forgotten very soon and, apart from a slight pro-teacher message the film soon becomes another zombie flick, it doesn't even have the usual political undertones like the night of the living dead film.
Over all Cooties is generally a good zombie film but I think it will lose a big chunk of it's audience because it becomes quite violent as the teaches have to fight the children to get out.
Don't expect anything great, Cooties is just another zombie film with a gimmick that some will find distasteful but, if you like your zombie films with a bit of humour and mindless action and you can look past the fact the zombies are children then give Cooties a go.
One last thing, I did find myself asking, if the air vent is big enough to fit to small adults side by side then it must have been big enough for a large man so any one could have gone on the mission.

The casting
A mindless but okay movie
I liked the casting and watched this because I do like some Nicholas Sparks on occasion. I'd read the book and it was mediocre at best. The film exceeded the book but still there is something significant missing in plot development. The main story in the house has some feeling but the background story as to why Gere's character is in the area lacked realism. It was still a decent movie to pass the time, but not desperately memorable.

I had never seen this film and just watched it for the first time a couple of days ago. Going into it, I was vaguely familiar with Norman Bates and who he was and what his story was. I haven't seen Bates Motel or read the book, so I was pretty surprised overall to not only enjoy this film, but have it keep me interested. I was surely convinced that by the end of it, Marion's sister was going to die too and then to find Norman's mother in the fruit cellar and have Norman come after her and then Sam save her, it was a rush and the perfect climax to the film. Then to have Norman's mother's voice at the end when Norman is just sitting, wrapped in a blanket, in an empty room - incredible. I'm not very familiar with Hitchcock's work but am excited to see what else he has to offer as I move through his filmography.

This is Sparta
300- is a excellent film. Zack Snyder did a excellent job with this film. This was his 2nd film he did and it really put him on the map, cause after this he did "Watchman" and "Man of Steel". His remake of "Dawn of the Dead" was excellent. 300 has excellent visuals, gory, vengeances and epicnest. Gerald Bulter does a excellent job in this.
The plot: In 480 B.C. a state of war exists between Persia, led by King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Greece. At the Battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas (Gerard Butler), king of the Greek city state of Sparta, leads his badly outnumbered warriors against the massive Persian army. Though certain death awaits the Spartans, their sacrifice inspires all of Greece to unite against their common enemy.
The film is a shot-for-shot adaptation of the comic book, similar to the film adaptation of Sin City.
Its a excellent movie and a must see.
