Several years ago, Hannah fell for a man named Bradford. Now he's back in town breaking more hearts until someone kills him backstage at a talent show. More of the same for this series, so if you enjoy the series, you'll like this book. A bit weak, but still plenty of fun.

The Bourbon Kings (Book1)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For generations, the Bradford family has worn the mantle of kings of the bourbon capital of the world. Their sustained wealth has afforded them prestige and privilege - as well as a hard-won division of class on their sprawling estate, Easterly. Upstairs, a dynasty that by all appearances plays by the rules of good fortune and good taste. Downstairs, the staff who work tirelessly to maintain the impeccable Bradford facade. And never the twain shall meet.

For Lizzie King, Easterly's head gardener, crossing that divide nearly ruined her life. Falling in love with Tulane, the prodigal son of the bourbon dynasty, was nothing that she intended or wanted - and their bitter breakup only served to prove her instincts were right. Now, after two years of staying away, Tulane is finally coming home again, and he is bringing the past with him. No one will be left unmarked: not Tulane's beautiful and ruthless wife; not his older brother, whose bitterness and bad blood know no bounds; and especially not the iron-fisted Bradford patriarch, a man with few morals, fewer scruples, and many, many terrible secrets. As family tensions - professional and intimately private - ignite, Easterly and all its inhabitants are thrown into the grips of an irrevocable transformation, and only the cunning will survive.

This is a reread for me and one of my favourites! This gives me Dallas crossed with Jilly Coopers Riders vibes. So much drama and the characters are so much fun!

"The lead singer for Deerhunter, Bradford Cox... I don’t like saying people are geniuses or whatever, but I just think that dude is so good at every single thing he does. He stays within his genre, but I think he does so well experimenting with stuff. He has two different bands. It’s just amazing how much he can expand over the one genre and make it radical. It’s a band I stumbled on and I was just pleasantly surprised by them. I really love all of Deerhunter’s stuff and they’re not afraid to get experimental which is really cool."

When I decided to read and review this book, I was not aware that it was part of a series. Number five in the series to be exact. I'm a big fan of thrillers especially when there is a character like Vanessa Michael Munroe. I can't wait to go back and read the rest of the series.

Vanessa Michael Munroe is very good at what she does. Just off a recent job, she decides to spend some time with a very special person in her life, Miles Bradford. They were in the same line of work, but their personal relationship was something different. On assignment in Japan, Bradford's on the hunt for a thief at ALTEQ. Munroe asks several times to join Miles at work and help with the assignment. More times than not, he refuses. When Miles is framed for murdering a Chinese woman at the company, Vanessa, the girlfriend takes a backseat and Michael the mercenary takes over. Not just to finish the job Bradford started, but also find the real killer. Not sure who she can trust, Munroe, disguised as a man takes on this arduous task. Will she be able to find the killer before she herself is killed?

I'm really upset that I haven't read this series chronologically. I feel like there are parts of Vanessa Michael Munroe that I am missing. I want to know more about her relationship with Bradford. Munroe is the kind of woman we all wish we could be. Able to evoke fear with just a glance, can read people like a book. She is strong, intuitive, resourceful, and smart. I'm not sure if it was love or devotion to the job/craft that made her go to the length she did to save Miles.

This book takes you on a journey where you are unsure of what is going to happen next. In a foreign country where you're not sure who is in charge and who you can trust, it's difficult to get help. The way Munroe handles herself shows the skill in her profession.

Ya'll I cannot express my love for RL Mathewson - nor this series - I've probably read the entire series twice and the first few books about 5 times, I just recently listened to this audiobook and I just, I need more - RL just keeps stealing my money and it should make me sad but truly, it doesnt - and her interaction with fans is impeccable. Jason will always be my favourite Bradford and the epilogue was probably my favourite part of the book - mostly, and the use of YOU BASTARD just was undeniable in this book.. seriously, obsessed - also I think there's a reference to hollywood hearts book 1 in there - which even after I read this book multiple times I just now noticed, I clearly need help - read this series .. do it NOW

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
2018 | Action, Sci-Fi

"I saw this opening night, loved the first thirty minutes, phased in and out for the rest. I really liked Alden Erenreich’s performance, the visual effects were top-notch and of course Bradford Young’s cinematography was a wonder, but otherwise I didn’t really feel strongly about it one way or another. Maybe, like most of the world, I didn’t need more STAR WARS just yet – but several months later, whilst on a long flight, I guess I definitely did because I randomly decided to rewatch the opening scene and before I knew it the credits were rolling. Freed of expectations, scaled down to an 8 inch Lufthansa screen, SOLO was a delight. I’m not too broken up about not getting additional young Han adventures, but I could definitely use more Lady Proxima in my life."

Just Right is the first book in the Bradford series by Erin Nicholas. Nurse Jessica Bradford has loved looking at Dr Ben Torres these past 6 months in the ER Department. Tonight’s tragedy has them all on edge, when Ben enters the ER and strikes a patient, Jessica doesn’t know how to help him. It becomes her duty to keep an eye on him during his suspension and keep him on the straight and narrow to be able to return to the ER Department. She doesn’t count on falling for him quite so easily and quickly.

Dr Ben Torres is having a hell of a night in the ER. He’s lost 2 young patients and their mother is looking to be next all because a guy he put back together on the operating table a few months back decided to drink and drive. He can’t stand by anymore while people take advantage of each other anymore. Why doesn’t anyone appreciate the life they are living any longer? When he sees that patient put his hands on Jessica he loses control. He has kept his distance from Jessica for 6 months, he has to keep his eyes off the prize, but he won’t stand by while someone hurts her. He has tossed around the idea of quitting for a while and this tips the scale big time.

When both Jessica’s brother Sam and boss Russ ask her to keep an eye on Ben until he can return to the ER she does so eagerly. She grows closer to him while he tags along with her in everyday life. He helps her at her family’s youth center, she helps him at his new barrista job. Their adventures together have quite a few funny situations and of course the secondary characters help the humor move along.

Ben and Jessica both have tragedy in their pasts, both have a self doubt they are working to erase from their beings. Even though they think they’ve taken different roads to end up where they are now, they are actually quite similar.

I read this authors Counting on Love series first, which is a spin off of this series, so I was already pretty familiar with all the main and secondary characters in this book. Erin Nicholas is a wonderful writer with a style I love to follow along with. I have no idea how I ended up reading her first to me novel but I am so glad I did. Now on to the next Bradford book…..
