First Love is a story of two young people, Alexandra and Robinson. Axi is sitting at Ernie's, a cafe in their small town, waiting for Robinson. Next week, she has finals for her two AP classes. Now, normally, this straight laced, straight A student would be studying for those finals, but today she has something else on her mind. As Robinson enters the store, all thoughts of finals escape her mind and a smile spreads across her face. He has that skill, to brighten her mood whenever he is around. As he sits down, worry starts to envelope Axi. What if her plan backfires? What if Robinson isn't interested in what she has to say? She takes a deep breath and says..."Let's Run Away".
All over the country they travel, breaking the rules and trying not to get hurt or arrested along the way. When this carefree trip takes a devastating turn, Axi comes to realize that life is way too short.

First Love is definitely not your typical James Patterson book. While he does have other books that are non-crime/police drama, they are few and far between. This was a cute story about teens trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Time is of the essence for them and they intend to ride it until the wheels fall off. Penning themselves Bonnie and Clyde, Axi and Robinson take a cross-country tour neither of them will ever forget. Starting in Oregon and ending in North Carolina they cross the country seeing the sites and trying to avoid the police. If you're interested in a quick, cute love story about a couple of kids, then you will enjoy this story!

Jemima Jones is overweight. She is aware of this fact and she's okay with it. She loves models and magazines and frequently cuts out their pictures and tapes them to her wall. Currently she writes the Top Tips for the Kilburn Herald in London. She would like to right features, like her friend Geraldine, but right now, she enjoys "proofing" the copy. She has a crush on another colleague, Ben Williams and occasionally, the three hang out. Ben is crushing on Geraldine, while Jemima is crushing on him. After an internet seminar given by the newspaper, the trio decides to check it out what all the internet hype is about for themselves. When they find a chat room called Cafe LA, Jemima becomes JJ and her world is flipped upside down.
JJ meets Brad in the chatroom and after talking for a while, they exchange photos. Brad is a hunk and JJ is smoking hot, but Jemima is not and before she agrees to meet Brad in person, she has to lose about 100 pounds. With this goal Jemima sets out to join a gym and get a personal trainer and the weight falls off. Armed with a new body and a new attitude, JJ is off to LA to meet Brad. Is he going to be the man in the pictures? Will they fall madly in love and will she finally get the man of her dreams?
Many women can relate to Jemima J. She is self conscious about herself and how the world perceives her. I could see myself in her shoes. I was afraid for her when she went to meet a man on the other side of the world that she had met on the internet. I wanted Ben to see her as more than a friend. I wanted her roommates to not be such idiots. Jemima is a character that you can understand and root for.

NOA is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her lovely electro-pop tune, entitled, “Hypocritical”.

With my new single, I want people to know that they’re not alone and we’re only human. ‘Hypocritical’ was inspired by my own breakup aftermath. The realization that everything I didn’t want my ex to be doing, I was doing myself. also, in a post-breakup state, it’s so easy to get hung up on wanting your ex back, or at least not wanting him to move on. But in reality, whether you recognize it or not, you’re likely already moving on.” – NOA
‘Hypocritical’ tells a post-breakup tale of a young woman who struggles to let go of her ex-boyfriend.
Apparently, she has moved on with her personal life, but still wants to be with him, even though he no longer belongs to her.
Also, she doesn’t want to see him with another woman, even though she’s romantically involved with another guy.
‘Hypocritical’ is the first single of a series of songs that NOA will be releasing this year.
The likable tune contains a relatable storyline and ear-welcoming vocals. Also, the song possesses playful instrumentation scented with a dancy indie-pop aroma.

It proper crept up on me!
I was gifted my copy of this book.
Kai is new in town, and being paired with Ezra and Sloan in a class at Whipped, the local kink cafe, sets off a chain reaction, one he never saw coming. Sloan and Ezra are already known to each other, as friends and play partners. Kai throws a bit of a spanner in the works, but these three are drawn to each other again and again. The Ezra and Sloan's past comes crashing back into their lives and all three are fighting to keep the other afloat.
The thing I loved most about this, was that all three were blindsided by the need they all had for each other, and NOT the smex. Oh don't get me wrong, the smexy thimes here are high level, as we are accustomed for the staff at Whipped, but the emotional connection grew from that, and they never saw it coming.
In all honesty, I LOVED the way Ezra and Sloan's past collided! I did not see that coming, and then again when it affects a Whipped member. Absolutely well played there, Ms McIntyre!
I loved that kai doesn't question what he's feeling, he just goes with it, and finally feels at home. He lets himself just be open to everything and Ezra and Sloan are super open about what they want, and they want Kai. Well, they want each other as well as Kai, and that they be a threeway.
The emotions that Sloan and Ezra let loose are painful reading. I cried for them both, when their stories came out. What they both suffered. How they are dealing (or not) with it now, and how they can all move forward.
I could gush all day, but I might end up with spoilers and I really don't wanna, so I'll just say this:
I bloody LOVED this book!

The House Guest is a psychological thriller that had me so frustrated in parts, that I could happily have thrown my kindle across the room (I really liked the book, by the way)
Kate’s sister disappeared when she was 10 years old, and now 15 years later Kate decides to move to London after one of her sisters old friends phones to say that they’ve seen her. Could this be Kate’s chance to find her sister?
Kate is overwhelmed by everything: the fact that she can’t find a decent job, she’s having no luck in finding her sister, and her parents expectation that she’ll come home to be with them, that London is just a phase. In fact they are very protective of Kate, almost suffocatingly so. They want her to phone them regularly, and make it clear that they expect her to come back to Oxford.
So when Della walks in to the cafe that Kate works at and invites her to join in her life-coaching class for some free sessions, Kate jumps at the chance. After all, she might just get the help she needs.
Kate is such a vulnerable character: she’s emotional and needs constant reassurance, whilst at the same time she doesn’t want anyone to know about her past. Della, on the other hand, is confident in every aspect of her life. She’s a successful life coach with beautiful children and a supportive husband - but there always seems to be something lurking under this glossy exterior. You just can’t put your finger on it until it’s too late!
I couldn’t decide if I wanted to shake or hug Kate, if I’m honest, and I’m sure other people will feel the same way, especially as more of her past is revealed. But my standing ovation goes to Della’s character and how she manages to manipulate Kate into getting exactly what she wants!
I hope this has piqued your interest. It’s a pretty gripping read especially in the latter half, and I’m sure you will really enjoy it - I did!

This book, right? This book has a little bit of everything, and then some!

Melody moves clear across the country, to share with Roxie, for a new job. Both women are hurting from bad break ups and jumping into something new isn't on either of their agendas, but sometimes, the heart wins out. Can they leave their baggage behind?
This book, right? This book has a little bit of everything, and then some!
It's got a whole lotta love between the group of friends that Roxie introduces Mel to, and I loved the way they fully pulled her into their fold, very quickly. Very quickly, those friends pegged that Rox has feeling for Mel, and not in a roommate kind of way! That she continues to deny it, at least out loud, is amusing, especially as Mel is doing the exact same thing!
It's got drama, from both Mel and Rox. Mel's is her job and her ex. Rox' is her mum and the way her ex left her feeling about herself.
It's got steam! Mel and Rox do get there, yes they do, but it takes them time, and I wasn't sure if this book would come out clean, at first. It doesn't, but it takes til waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past halfway for them to get there. BUT! They needed that time, I think, to get their heads round how they felt about each other and getting over their past heartbreaks.
Loved the business these guys have, the Tabletop Tavern, a board game cafe. Some of the game references I didn't get, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this book. Fully fledged gamers will get them all, I'm sure!
There are stories for the friends to be told, and I can't wait to read them! The next book is laid out here, but I've no idea what might happen there, and in future books.
A wonderful read, it really was.

When we first meet Lorelei she is quiet and unassuming, trying hard to remain that way as she works in her (deceased) Gran's cafe. However, things quickly start moving along as she invokes the wrath of a cheerleader who is dating her best friend, a boy appears out of nowhere and insinuates himself into her life (and she's completely okay with that) and we won't even get to the fact that when she was younger she thinks she did a deal with some sort of angel, except he had black raven's feathers on his wings, and he now controls her singing voice.
There is such a lot going on in this book and that is just the beginning. It all changes when she falls into Adrius' world and discovers that nothing is what it seems. I have to say that for someone who gives the impression of being unassuming in the 'normal' world, she certainly has a lot to say in a world she knows nothing about. I liked Lorelei but I did find her annoying at times with her 'quick wit' and complete disregard for anyone's opinion other than her own. And don't even get me started on how she can't do as she's told! Like I said, quiet and unassuming?!
The relationship between Lorelei and Adrius is complicated, to say the least, and certainly lives up to the title of the book. There is intensity and passion, along with a frisson of the forbidden. There is also, however, a strong hint of a love triangle which I'm really hoping doesn't come to anything. There is enough going on, and they have enough against them, without the need for a triangle. This would just add something completely unnecessary in my opinion but then I'm not a big fan of them anyway.
On the whole, this is a fast-paced, action-packed fantasy novel that starts off a new series with oomph. Definitely recommended to all YA Fantasy fans out there.

There is such a lot going on in this book and that is just the beginning. It all changes when she falls into Adrius' world and discovers that nothing is what it seems. I have to say that for someone who gives the impression of being unassuming in the 'normal' world, she certainly has a lot to say in a world she knows nothing about. I liked Lorelei but I did find her annoying at times with her 'quick wit' and complete disregard for anyone's opinion other than her own. And don't even get me started on how she can't do as she's told! Like I said, quiet and unassuming?!

“”Beautiful, shining kami in the sky. All different. All unique. Just like us”…After that, whenever we went camping, I would always tell my parents I couldn’t wait until nightfall so I could see the beautiful shining people in the sky.”
I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this, but I quickly realised that I was loving what I was reading. I do like both speculative and science fiction, so I knew we’d be off to a good start.
This is so much more though. It’s about relationships, both with others and oneself. It’s about loneliness, feeling cut off from others and trying to make a connection.
Both John, a young American tech genius, and Neotnia, are loners. Neither of them want to be alone. John is trying to escape his past and his past self, and Neotnia wants to find her past. They’re both very caring, likeable characters, Neotnia in particular, especially in her interactions with the elderly residents of a home she volunteers at.
My particular favourite was the cafe owner and Neotnia’s guardian - Goeido. He has an interesting and sad past as a Sumo, and this is probably the reason why he is so protective towards Neotnia.
Some of the themes have their place in our society too. The rise of AI, tense relationships between superpowers, terrorist attacks, deep fakes, cyber attacks, fake news - all of these affect us today.
Tokyo as a setting was inspired. All of the AI and robots didn’t seem out of place. I mean, we expect them there, don’t we? Robots taking your order in a fast food restaurant and helping you with directions in the street seem not too far a reach of the imagination in Japan (you can probably tell I’ve never been there!).
The last chapter or so, was so powerful. It was sad and explained all of what had gone before. It was emotional, and the ending was perfect.

<u>Me Before You</u> is an intense story about Will Traynor, a quadriplegic who is not happy about the current status of his life; and Louisa "Lou" Clark, his caregiver, hired by Will's parents for a term of six months.
Louisa Clark had never had any caregiver experience before working with Will Traynor. She had spent the past six years of her life working in a cafe called The Buttered Bun. When the owner decides to retire to a happier place, Lou is without a job and prospects for find one are very low in the town she lives in.
Will Traynor lived his life almost opposite of Louisa. Grabbing life by the horns and trying a new adventure all the time. When Will is involved in a terrible accident that changes his life forever, nothing will stop him from making the one and only decision he is capable of handling on his own.
<u>Me Before You</u> is a story about love and the lengths we will go through to support the ones that we love. Before Will met Louisa, he spent his days inside his home or never venturing far from it for anything more than a doctor's appointment or a trip to the hospital. When Louisa entered his life, she showed him that being in a wheelchair didn't have to be the only thing that defined his life. He could still live the adventurous life he used to, just under different circumstances. Before Louisa met Will, she had never traveled far from their small town. Will showed her all that the world had to offer and that she was worthy enough and deserved to enjoy all that was out there.
This book has been the subject of controversy because of the act of assisted suicide. No one can ever understand another person's turmoil. We all know that is wrong to kill, including killing yourself. In my opinion, Will's life was immensely enriched when Louisa came into it and he had so much to live for. But I could never imagine what he went through mentally and I could never imagine wanting to kill myself.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I look forward to finding out what happens next for Louisa Clark.

This book has been the subject of controversy because of the act of assisted suicide. No one can ever understand another person's turmoil. We all know that is wrong to kill, including killing yourself. In my opinion, Will's life was immensely enriched when Louisa came into it and he had so much to live for. But I could never imagine what he went through mentally and I could never imagine wanting to kill myself.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I look forward to finding out what happens next for Louisa Clark.

my fav of the three!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 3 in the Dungeons and Dating series. While it can totally be read as a stand-alone, I really think you should read books one and 2 first. It will give you a better, bigger picture of this group of co-workers and friends but also because I said to! Bloody good books, both of them!
Mason and Hunter work at the game cafe, and have crushed on each other for a long time. There are so many miscommunicated moments between these two, it made for painful reading!
Hunter likes how Mason makes him feel, but knows someone like Mase won't ever want him. Mase, in turn, can't understand why Hunter pushed them away a year ago. When Hunter tells them WHY? Oh, I fell in love with Hunter, just a little bit more. Mase too, when they finally let Hunter in.
These two are perfect for each other, but neither thinks they are good enough for the other. Once they actually talk, things become clearer as to why they both think that.
It's not as steamy as the other two books, I thought, but it is HEAVY on the emotions. I loved that Hunter makes a point to ask Mase about their preferences, what they like to do in the smexy department, given that Mase is non-binary. I will admit it took a little getting used to the they/their/them pronouns, but it soon faded to the background. I hated what happened to Mason's sister and how that all came out. And then what happened to Hunter when he was young, you could see why Mason pushed Hunter away for a time.
The others pop up, and I again implore Ms McIntyre to write a story for Jasper! He's starting to hurt, a little, that his friends are pairing up and he can't find his person. You feel for Kelly here. But I think there is a whole LOT we don't know about her relationship with Nat. There are clues, if you know what to look for, that things weren't as clear cut as they seemed. That all comes out in the next book, though.
I loved this book, more so than books 1 and 2 and I loved them too!
