The Really Nasty Horse Racing Game

A game of blackmail and tickery
The really Nasy horse racing game sounds as though its name could be deceiving but actually that's exactly what it is, a nasty horse racing game.

Quite simply it's 6 races that you place bets on, the person with the most money at the end wins.

The twist come with the really nasty cards that each player gets issued.. if used tacticlly you can fall horses, object and issue a setwards inquiry to push your horse into 1st or simply call a false start.

All in all its a great game for all the family and I would highly recommend it. Just be warned this could be horse racings answer to monopoly.

Fluxx
Fluxx
1997 | Card Game
Flux is all about changing rules and goals so that your best laid plans go awry. Unfortunately, too much chaos can be a bad a thing. At the start, the rules are simple, draw a card, play a card. As the game goes on, more rules are added like drawing more cards, hand limits, etc.; Players gain and lose keepers; goals keep changing; all of which contributes to a madhouse of a game which often comes down to luck. It's a easy game to teach (read the card) but depending on the draw... Can overstay it welcome. There are many themed fluxes out there which are a little more enjoyable than the basic flux due to nostalgia or special rules, but they all operate under the same basic rules: utter chaos.

WAR OF THE RING REVIEW
This game is huge in more ways than one. Firstly the board is 41 by 54 inches so you are going to need a big table. Then there are a mass of plastic figures representing military units, blue for the Free Peoples and Red for the forces of Shadow. There are also figures for the main characters and others, and four decks of character and event cards. There is a 48 page reasonably well written and illustrated rule book. War of the Ring is a complex game and after set up which can take some time, play takes somewhere in the region of three hours.

So is it worth it? In my view yes.

Wild
I love this game. It's just a simple, black and white card game, but it is one of the best games out there. It's dirty, it's wild, it's weird, and it's sometimes just plain wrong, but it is a hilarious party game from start to finish. It really works well when all your friends have the same horrid sense of humor, and it's best when you get just the right card at just the right time. Maybe not the best to play with your family (mostly parents and much younger siblings), and I say that as someone who does occasionally.
