Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Betrayal (The 1000 Revolution, #1) in Books
Sep 8, 2019
Well I found this a quick read, I started it last night (7th Sep) and it was so quick to pull me in that I read 25% in one sitting and then picked it up again first thing this morning to carry on.
It easily had me intrigued with all the fragments of memory that #1001 kept remembering and the failure to reset or follow the commands. It became clear that she had some sort of background with Caleb, something that didn't end very well for them.
I also liked how Caleb and Fran sort of argued and didn't always get on but could work together brilliantly and outwit the fleet. There's quite a lot of action for how short it is but it's very engaging.
It's an interesting start and I'm definitely intrigued enough to carry on with the series but I'm going to work through my list of to-read before I go buying any new ones.

Jackjack (877 KP) rated The Umbrella Academy - Season 2 in TV

What a perfect carry on!

Right, first off let me just say season 1 was brilliant and they couldn't have followed up any better with season 2.
Acting was spot on from every single actor/actress, everyone played their rolls amazingly. This was the perfect carry on with plenty of action, lots of twists and turns and a well thought out ending.
Only one scene bothered me, there is a scene with their dad, he confronted a room full of men by taking off his skin and underneath he was an alien, I mean i get he is curious about the dark side of the moon, but an alien? At what point does this have anything to do with the program. Unless there will be an ending of sorts where you find out he created these beings with gifts in some weird alien way....... We will see, can not wait for season 3!

David McK (3932 KP) rated Supernatural - Season 15 in TV

Carry on my wayward son...
Final season of Supernatural, badly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, and which sees the Winchester brothers facing perhaps their greatest challenge yet: Chuck.
While the finale may be, suffice to say, quite divisive, I actually quite liked it as a coda to the episode before it (and I'm not sure how else they could have ended it).
