The idea behind this film (in order to save the world from mankind's expansion and overuse of resources, Norwegian scientists master the science of shrinking, and with humans being a fraction of their size the planet can start to recover) was excellent. However this did not translate into a good film. Matt Damon tries his best to portray the man looking for a new start post-downsizing, adding humour and charm, but is not enough to carry a script that just didn't know what it wanted to do.
While the film managed to show that some facets of humanity will still carry on post-shrinking (we need working class people to run the utopia so we have tiny shanty towns) and add an element of satire, it was not a cohesive film.

I heard a lot of good things about this film. By far the best thing about it is Micky Rourke performance of a once popular wrestler in the 80's now 20 years on making appearances on the small time circuit to try and make ends meets. It's a sad, touching drama of someone who has a fall from grace, struggling to carry on doing what they love and trying to put things right from where they went wrong in the past. It has a raw gritty feel to it and made on a low budget but it doesn't deter from the great acting on show. Might be a bit slow for those who are not in to dramas.

I love the Overdrive app, because it lets me carry books with me all the time. It is easy to use and I have a mile long wishlist of books because of it. The only thing that I do not like is that, I have tried to download audiobooks on my phone and they for some reason will not load. If that could be fixed I would love this app even more.
