Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Arrangement 2: The Ferro Family (The Arrangement, #2) in Books

3.5 stars.
Once again I was just getting into the story when it ended--rather abruptly, I think.
Well it's been a while since I read book 1 of this series so I was a little confused with how this book started. I remembered a few little bits but as to what was said that she needed to respond to straight away...I had no idea. THEREFORE I RECOMMEND YOU EITHER RE-READ THE FIRST ONE (which I didn't) OR READ THEM ONE AFTER ANOTHER (which I also won't be doing, lol).
I'm not too keen on this being a serial. This is something that should probably have been made into probably 4 or 5 longer books, not 20-odd smaller instalments because I'm refusing to pay the price of them all individually (unless they go to 99p, because I'm tight like that.)
I like it but I'm not in any hurry to carry it on.

Charlotte (184 KP) rated Dagger Hill in Books
Sep 10, 2021
Silent hill for teenagers....Creepy and pretty terrifying.
The potential to be made into a film is definitely lurking there.
The four main characters, teenagers on the threshold of their senior year, are interesting and quirky. Each has a different personality that gels well with the others but doesn't then blend into one boring entity.
Set in 1989, a time before the internet and mobile phones (as we know them now and the actual ability to carry one) Dagger Hill has a small town charm. A charm that contrasts against the awful things that happen there.
This is at least a young adult read with themes of horror and violence. It could easily sit on a shelf with books written by such greats as King and Laymon. It's the kind of book that crawls into your thoughts when you least expect it and creates vivid scenes in your mind.

I didn’t expect too much from this as I watched the show before reading the book, but I think the show did a really good adaptation as it wasn’t too far off the source material!
I thoroughly enjoyed following Daphne and Simon through their fake courtship and into them ending up getting married and the trials that came with married life.
It was really well written, and kept me completely engrossed… so engrossed that I read it in an evening! It was good that it focused a lot more on their blossoming relationship with each other than the parties and other characters, as I feel this gives you more of a want to read the rest of the books in the series to find out more about Daphne’s siblings.
I can’t wait to carry on with the series, I think Julia Quinn’s writing is beautiful and I have hopes that the rest of the series is just as good as this book has been!

Planning the Perfect…Deletion
You’ve never heard of McMasters, the secret college that teaches adults of all age how to get away with deleting someone, what we uninitiated would call murder. This book, presented as an instructional book for those of us who can’t attend the university, has three case studies from three students in the 1950’s. They all need to delete their bosses for various reasons. Will they learn enough to help them?
I’d heard about this book for a while, and finally remembered to get it from the library. Parts of it were fun, like the word play. However, that didn’t carry on throughout the book, at least for me. My biggest gripe is that trying to juggle three students made it hard to focus on and remember who all the players were in all three stories. I think taking out one of the students would have helped. Still, I did have fun with this book. I’m glad I finally gave it a chance.

Only 4 Inventory Slots & can only carry one stack of a particular item
An Adorable Adventure
The playing of this game came about when my 8 yr old wanted to watch me play a game on the Xbox, my usual FPS range of games obviously not being suitable for her to watch, I dug this one out of my digital game pile. I've got to say, this is a pretty awesome game. It's cute, it's fun and it allows you to get creative. As you play you open up new areas using Slime Keys, and each one is just - *so* pretty. In each of these areas you have the opportunity to catch new slime breeds, work through new challenges, and find treasure. I recommend opening up the Slime Science area of the map as soon as you can because this allows you to make gadgets that make your Ranching life tons easier. As it's not an overly expensive game, the mechanics are a little screwy sometimes, especially with the jet pack and that can become frustrating, and if you get knocked out by falling in the Slime Sea or being attacked by Feral Slimes you lose everything in your inventory and you lose a day (which means the slimes in your Ranch get grumpy if they run out of food). The only other thing I found super annoying was you only have 4 inventory slots and can only carry one stack of a particular item (so if you have 50 Carrots, you can't carry any more even if you have open slots), if you're exploring away from your Ranch you run out of space *really* fast. Overall, the game is fun and relaxing to play - with the exception of a few minor issues. I would recommend if you enjoy chilled out games or just want a break from your regular playing style :)
