Thank You For the Days is a thoroughly lovely read. Luke Milvaine, a man in his 30’s, seems to have lost his direction in life. He lives in the basement of his stepfathers house with his step-siblings living upstairs with their father. His mum died some years before and his dad is absent (he’s travelling around the world on business, and seems to have little time for Luke).

Luke inherits a cockapoo from an old school friend after he dies, he’s constantly yearning after the illusive Yasmine (who he refers to as ‘The One’) after a whirlwind holiday romance, and his job is really not what he wants to be doing.

To add challenge to his life, Luke decides to set himself a different challenge everyday for a year, and celebrates a different ‘Day’ every day. Some of them seem quite good, whilst others are FAR from good (shower with a friend, anyone? National Gimp day?).

I enjoyed seeing Luke grow throughout this book, and the way his relationship developed with his work colleague, Holly and his long-suffering stepdad. His bosses (a father and daughter who constantly bicker) were very funny, and some of the days he sets himself are certainly very challenging!

This book is a good reminder that we should make the most of the time that we have, and the people that we have in our lives.

Many thanks for the review copy that I received from the author (far too long ago, and I do apologise!), and this is an honest review!

love it
i like to watch this while im at the gym because it just so good that while it is on i can forget about how tried i am. the show manages to strike a balance between being comedic and serious.
the show does not fall to the common challenge of most comedies to not have stupid comedy in there. you know the one right? the kind that makes you cringe.
well I'm very glad to say you'll find none of that here.
you should definitely watch this I've yet to find someone who doesn't like it so give it a go even if your not a typical police show fan or a fan of comedy's because this show really is much more than that.

My most used app
I love goodreads, and I honestly believe it is the most used app on both my phone and my tablet. I love to read and this app makes it so easy for me to keep track of my reading lists, reviews, and what my friends are reading. They also do a lot of giveaways, and I've received some awesome stuff from them, like advance readers copies of books. I also find the yearly reading challenge super satisfying to work towards. Overall, I think anyone who frequently reads, needs book suggestions, or wants an information source for their books should use this app. 10/10 for me.

This was not an easy read, and was odd in places (but that's the point of it, right?). If I'm right, it's about the pointlessness of war, and of living and dying. Anti-religion, anti-government, anti-war, basically. The act of the main character being able to move seamlessly through time gave the impression that everything had already happened, will happen again, and is yet to happen.
Confused yet? I was. Well, I was until I read some passages several times, and flicked back to certain parts. Honestly, I'm glad it wasn't any longer. This was hard work, and decidedly harrowing in places. I'm glad I've read it at last and I do like a book that's a challenge!
