A revisit from my childhood
I haven't read this book since a child, and I can safely say that I think I may have even enjoyed it more the second time around.
An easy to read but enchanting story about another world, lovable characters, and a very compelling read.
I would definitely recommend this to any child, and to any adult who read it as a child and even those who didn't. Whether or not this is your normal style of book, I think that this is a book that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime 😊

Dark
I found this one on Netflix. It's fairly dark, but doesn't start off that way. Involves a woman and her boyfriend traveling through Bosnia when their car breaks down in the woods(filled with mines) and they meet a couple of Serbian men who claim to want to help but ignite memories from her childhood during the war. Her boyfriend finds out just what she's made of when the two men turn out to be not so helpful. Decent acting and cinematography. The story unfolds well. I doubt kids would be interested, but this movie is worth a watch. Very interesting tale.

Scooby Doo for the modern era.
After struggling to find a book for a while, Meddling Kids cleansed the pallet for me. With whitty one-liners and wonderful character development, this book contains what young adults (and adults) would see as an ideal scooby doo experience.
We are treated with a team of five (one being a dog and one being a ghost) who return to a childhood island in which a mystery has been left unsolved. The book ties up many ongoing plots throughout and leaves no stone left unturned, not to mention the wonderful addition of seeing a rather wonderful dog solve a few of them.

A Wonderful Journey
I have loved Billy Connolly for many years and have watched most if not all of his television series. I decided to watch this as it shows just how he became the Big Yin. It shows his childhood on the streets of Glasgow, his brief, yet insightful working life, and his love of music, drama, art and all things entertainment. This was done last year and he speaks openly and frankly about his Parkinsons Disease and how it affects him. I loved this show and its both funny and moving and there will be tears i am sure when you watch it.

I love reading this book. I found the world that Ishiguro created to be well built where while it had the aspect of fantastical or sci-fi, it really felt real. From beginning to end I really felt connected to the characters, and I loved the way in which the book was written as Kathy thinks back on her childhood. Ishiguro is certainly a master at writing story that has an organic flow of the way in which people think back on memories, pieces connected bast on subject and feeling rather than in a linear form. I would highly recommend giving this book a read.

Toni Lynn Donald (2027 KP) rated A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) in Movies

Wonderful, heartwarming movie
Just finished watching and had to write a review. This was so beautifully done. It was about the man who interviewed Mr.Rodgers for a magazine article and the lessons he learned from him. Tom Hanks was amazing as Mr. Rodgers. It also made me remember my childhood and the things I loved about Mr.Rodgers. I had a tough time as a kid, i had seizures and kids made fun of me. I remember Mr. Rodgers having children on the show with disabilities and it made me not feel alone. I really loved this movie. It had a good lesson to it too.
