"Another film I watch over and over. I always begin thinking I’m only going to watch the great opening shot, then wind up watching it till the end. A classic of economy. Like the way Michelangelo created Moses from a block of stone: cut away everything that isn’t Moses."

"A hilarious, twisted, gorgeous love story between a teenager, Bud Cort, and an old lady, the magnificent Ruth Gordon. Indelibly directed by Hal Ashby, it features one of the best soundtracks ever—all classic Cat Stevens. Still can’t hear “Trouble” without seeing a hearse drive off a cliff."

What a movie. This movie was dubbed a cult classic, and I'm not sure what that means I have to do to enjoy it, but it didn't work. This movie has no second act. It jumps from the first act straight to the thrid act. Not super nejoyable.

"The Star Wars story arc — that is, all of them. And I know that’s inclusive, but if you look at them like episodes of television, I can just say the words, “Star Wars,” because I think it is a great depiction of the classic story of good vs. evil."

"This classic collection of short stories is about a character dealing with addiction, but Johnson masterfully elucidates the "spirit" component of alcoholic "spirits": His writing is almost otherworldly in its attunement to what's below surfaces, gliding into these spaces with words that capture our most nuanced internal states"

"The Odyssey” was first book I read with my Grampie at four-years-old and was my introduction to the mesmerizing tales of Roman and Greek Mythology. Not only is this book a classic, with plenty of recognizable tales, but truly a whimsical experience of triumph, love, and hardship."

"This classic adaptation of John Buchan’s book is one of Hitchcock’s last British features and is filled with brilliant and funny set pieces. Dapper Robert Donat and plucky blonde Madeleine Carroll on the run from the good guys and the bad guys, moving from London to the Scottish highlands."

"The classic Jack Kerouac On the Road is every teenager’s bible to escape the rigors and the boredom of the “straight” world, to expand their horizons, and to question authority and what it dictates is appropriate and normal societal behavior. But most of all, it represents true freedom!"

Having a Michael Douglas week, and this was the second film we watched, it a good classic thriller, plenty of sex and just enough of a twist to keep you guessing, only downside is it never truly explains what happens and why.
