The description made this book seem like it was filled with action, but in reality it was more about the inner monologues of a psychotic brat named Angela and some heavy dialogues between Damien and Raevyn.

I'll first start off with why I didn't like this book. First off, Angela very rarely talked. In fact, the most you get out of her is her mental raving monologues about her feelings towards Damien. If I was Damien and knew what she was thinking, I probably would have shot her instead. Most of the dialogue is between Damien and Raevyn, who have more chemistry than Damien and Angela. Half the time, their dialogues seemed so tedious and about absolutely nothing that I couldn't force myself to focus on what was be said. Not only that, but I literally had no idea what was going on. It was so hard to follow the story line.

All of that aside, it was pretty enjoyable. I loved Cruz's art style which was more sketchy than clean, clear lines. I actually spent more time examining his technique over the actually reading storyline I thought the characters were believable, psychosis and all. It was actually humorous to read Raevyn and Damien's spats although I often found myself wanting to smack them both. After a few of these little tiffs, I can imagine why Angela would just keep her mouth shut (although her silence was stilling annoying).

I thought about continuing the story to actually figure out what happens, but I decided there are more pressing novels on my bookshelves to read first.

Bailee Madison is a bad ass (2 more)
Great storyline
A sequel that doesn't ruin the original
Some jumps and gasps and WTF's... fun for the whole family
Going into a sequel that is ten years after an origin film is dangerous water to tread into for any horror film fan. Raised expectations can drown out what you are hoping happens and it takes the fun out of the movie for you.
The second installment of The Strangers was not a fun movie... for poor Bailee Madison. She is stabbed sliced and beaten up like she has never been before. Everyone remembers her as the little girl in Guillermo del Toro's Don't be Afraid of the Dark. But in this film she really establishes herself as a young Scream Queen in the making. Defining the Final Girl role in spades.
The Strangers themselves are all terrifying giving the viewer jump scare after jump scare by just popping up at random throughout the movie, causing scream after scream in the filled theatre I was in.
Though I am positive that there will not be another installment in this mini franchise. It would not surprise me in the least to see Pinup Girl, Dollface and The eerie monster, Man in the Mask once more.
If not... the writers have done a great job keeping my interested in what happens in this movie to satisfy my taste buds for gore blood and story... and I hope in all honesty that they don't go to the well again expecting clean drinking water.
8 out of 10 knives to the back with a special twist for good measure.

Absolutely dismal survival movie. There was so much wrong with this movie I really don't know where to start. I rate both Elba and Winslet highly and expected so much better! Let's start:-
1. The commercial airlines have cancelled all flights due to the storm, but the intelligent characters and an experienced pilot all decide they can fly through said storm in a much tinier light aircraft, plus the experienced pilot does not bother to file a flight plan! Doh.
2. Even with a broken? leg Winslet seems to easily get through the snow, as does the dog (I have taken my dogs through shallower snow than is on the film, they struggle to get through it, get tired super quick and have icicles stuck all over them).
3. Even though they are walking through snow they appear never to get wet. They seem to have perfectly dry and clean clothes and even shampooed hair.
4. It seems like they are up the mountain for days rather than weeks.
5. I didn't see the love story coming, they didn't seem to have much chemistry. Their connection was not believable.
6. Winslet falls through ice into the lake, she sinks and floats back up. Elba runs to the edge of said hole and manages to drag her out easily despite the weight of her and her clothes. The lake was seemingly firm other than that bit of hole!
7. There is a little house, complete with furniture and even a piano on the mountain but with no roads nearby, go figure? Maybe it flew there in a tornado from Kansas!
I could go on but you get the gist.
