GameCritics (290 KP) rated Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions in Video Games
Nov 2, 2017
Still a fantastic RPG fourteen years later. The Bowser’s Minions side story is an enjoyable, if occasionally tedious, diversion. But the main quest is better than ever with the same addictive combat, laugh-out-loud story

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) in Movies

War Of The Planet Of The Apes” is exceptional. Ultimately, for all the combat, the film is really about the battle for Caesar’s soul and whether he’ll be blinded by bloodlust or find his humanity.

Excellent story, controls from hell.

An excellent game, but with its flaws.
The story is an excellent one, taking place mainly in the last half of the 18th century. The story follows Haytham Kenway and his son Connor, one a templar, one an assassin.
In the present day, Desmond, his friends and father are in a Precursor Temple, and a difficult decision awaits them.
The only thing that really (severely) lets this game down is the awkward combat controls that only seem to work 25% of the time if that. These controls ruin the fluidity of the game, and therefore do really detract from the enjoyment of the game.
All in all, prepare for frustration and an excellent story!

Excellent
This movie was very intense-emotionally speaking. The acting was spot on and the cinematography was great. If you're into military stories about what soldiers go through between home life and combat life you'll love this one. A great story about an American hero dealing with both. Sadly it ends in truly tragic way. REALLY worth a watch.

A Good Mix of Combat, Crime and Mystery
Definitely Worth the Read
Definitely worth the read, I enjoyed the style of writing and the characters were very engaging. I haven't read a Halo book yet that has disappointed so I have high hopes for the next one on my list. What I liked about this one was that it wasn't just solely about combat it actually had an element of mystery and crime to it which made it interesting. I felt the reveal of the criminal was anticlimactic which was a little disappointing for me but I enjoyed the ending none the less. It was an enjoyable read, I'd recommend it to sci-fi readers and crime fic readers alike.

Great game let down by the DLC.
To start with, this is an outstanding game if you love Dragon Ball.
The game allows you to fight your way through the entire story of Dragon Ball Z, obviously just keeping to the key battles as otherwise the game would be far too long.
The game allows you to play as a reasonable variety of characters from the game. Some characters are only available as support though, so if you want to play as Krillin, Tien, Goten or Trunks, you're out of luck I'm afraid. But you do have Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan and Future Trunks to choose from, which is a pretty decent mix.
Every single character also has a unique skill tree to allow you to power up and attain new skills and attacks, even on support characters, which is a nice touch and allows you to mix and match your fighting style.
Also included is the ability to hunt and gather ingredients to boost your stats, which although doesn't sound that fun, it can be! The fishing mini-game is also a nice touch. Simple, but nice.
Though one of my favourite things about this were the nods to the original Dragon Ball, bringing characters that Dragon Ball Z forgot about such as Eighter and The Pilaf Gang, and The Red Ribbon Army.
As it is with most things, there are downsides.
Firstly, the DLC. The 3rd DLC was a great addition, expanding on a part of Dragon Ball Z that wasn't fully explored. But the first two, you go I'm expecting a story, but they are basically training exercises that give you access to new transformations, which is pretty cool, but not really a DLC that needed to be separate from the game.
Secondly, the speech. During the game, instead of saying what the characters are actually saying, they will just say single words or sometimes just noises, which is honestly quite annoying and repetitive, and sometimes doesn't even relate to what they are saying.
And finally, this is just a minor thing, but combat is a bit limiting. For some reason all combat takes place in the air, even before the characters learned how to fly, combat still takes place in the air. It's not bad, but allowing combat on the ground would add a new level to the combat, or even some new moves!
Overall though, thoroughly recommended! Enjoy!

Awesome hack and slash (1 more)
Cool art
Combat sometimes (1 more)
Camera angles
Bloody, awesome and a little infuriating
This is an awesome hack and slash game. When I want to vent some of my aggression, this is the one to reach for. It is similar to God of War except that its derived from Celtic mythology, which I love. It has had some negative reviews due to its basic combat, repetitive enemies and weak storyline. I disagree, I love it. The art is awesome, black and white and muted tones, with splashes or fountains of red. It is very bloody, grungy graphic novel style art. The main characters design is striking and unique. The combat can turn onto button mashing but, there are strategic combos which when performed correctly, have some cool and bloody, visual executions. You pick up different weapons on your adventure which opens up options for different fighting styles, combos and upgrades. The more combos you do, the more blood is spilled which means you can access RAGE mode. There is no blocking, so dodging is vital. Sometimes the gameplay mechanics are frustrating due to the annoying camera angles. Its a pretty awesome hack and slash game and love it.
