I was so happy to read Martin Shorts story. But his story was definitely not as happy as I assumed it was. Why are comedians always so troubled??

Not that this makes it a depressing read, it's extremely interesting, very funny at times, and I learned a lot about Martin and Hollywood as well!

So glad to still have great comedic minds like Mr. Short alive and well and making us laugh. A very interesting bio well worth the read.

Having loved the film that this show is based on i was expecting something really good from this and boy did it deliver.

The casting of Kayvan Novak and Matt Berry (2 well known comedians in the Uk) was an inspired choice, the storylines were executed perfectly and every joke hit the spot..every time.I dont want to give to much away in case there is anyone who hasn't seen the series yet but i hope this brief review will persuade you into seeing it and loving it as much as I did.

Crime and Comedy
Two American comedians who examine the horrendous things that sometimes happen when people in small towns snap and commit murder. A hilariously funny show, which is respectful to the victims and their families, while laughing at murderers, incompetent law enforcement, and small town behaviour.
True crime and comedy can go together, and laughter and black humour are a good coping mechanism when dealing with horrific circumstances, and these two walk the tightrope between irreverence and insensitivity very well.

If all you're looking for is sports, look elsewhere. The hosts of Crime in Sports are comedians, who take a look at the life of a sportsperson and the noodnickery they perpetrated. They do cover the sports career, but only briefly and as a reference.
If you like true crime, hearing how famous people mess up, riches to rags stories, and amazing things you never knew, definitely listen to this podcast and laugh along. You do not need to like sports.

Movie Favorite

"I would watch that movie on VHS every night before bed for maybe two years. I’ve always felt a very close kinship with middle-aged women. [laughs] When I was in elementary school, I felt like I understood it. [laughs] I don’t know why. It’s three greats, three great female comedians, and the final song and dance at the end, “You Don’t Own Me,” was something Sarah Paulson and I recreated many a time, filming Martha Marcy May Marlene. It had a new meaning, all of a sudden."

Love it
I love this podcast. Ed and James are quite the foodies. They’ve both travelled a lot and visited a lot of different restaurants around the world. I also like the fact that Ed doesn’t mind talking about his type 1 diabetes, and he also doesn’t let it limit his culinary choices. (Refreshing for fellow type 1s like me!).
As for their guests - they are generally fellow comedians but not necessarily. They are asked what their dream meal would be and why. There are some surprising choices. The funniest for me so far has been Victoria Coren-Mitchell. Not what I expected at all ?.

"It’s probably gonna be a very comedy-heavy list, but, one of my favorite movies is Superbad. Big Judd Apatow fan. I kinda always have been, still am, and that movie actually came out, like, my senior year of high school, so it was kinda like the perfect timing for me. It was right before me going to college, and if you remember Superbad, that’s what their whole quest was. Jonah Hill, Judd Apatow, Michael Cera, all those guys, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader — those are all still, to this day, some of my favorite comedians and actors to watch. That’s a big one for me."

Compared to movies of today, the film seems somewhat dated in it's storytelling! (0 more)
A murder mystery that will leave you dying of laughter!
Even though this film was made in the early 80's, the combine comedic talents of Don Knotts and Tim Conway make this movie a must see. Fans of the two stars will love to see them spoof murder mysteries; while others who do not know of the 2 comedians will come to appreciate their type of humor. So if you love to find out 'whodunit'...join 'The Private Eyes' as they scream their way to laughter to solve the ultimate crime ever!

I am a PCD
Two friends chatting about music, life, love, veganism and social media on Radio X. Excellent features such as "Humblebrag of the Week", "Made Up Game", "Abbatoir" (where some of the biggest bands in the world are debated and listener votes either put them safely in the paddock or consign them to the abbatoir) and "Winner Plays On".
Both comedians in their own right, Elis James is a football-mad Welsh mod and John Robins is a Queen-obsessed stickler for the rules. Both have enough in common and enough different opinions to make the show hilarious and something of a cult. Listen to all shows from the start to become a "retro-oner" and a "Podcast Devotee" (PCD).
