Things have plateaued a bit in this second volume of the Eleventh Doctor series 2 comics. The yarn is still enjoyable, and the writing still compelling, but whereas the first five issues really kickstarted things, this middle section suffers from simply being the middle section. The first two are great, the third is good, the last two seem like padding to stretch the story out for the full season. Here's hoping the resolution to come is as good as the set up was, in which case I may have to edit my ranking...

Doesn't do the characters justice
I saw this with an open mind after hearing it got awful reviews. I'm not a huge comic fan, so don't know how accurate it is to the comics. Which seemed to be a big issue for some. Afterwards I can see why it was a disappointment. You expect awesome things with these characters, but the plot seemed weak to me. I was underwhelmed with a film that had so much potential.

Raising Dion

I've been following the ‘Raising Dion’ project for quite some time now and I am thrilled to see that Netflix has picked it up!

The series is based on commercial and music video director Dennis Liu’s short film about an African-American single mother who discovers her young son has multiple, constantly changing abilities and will also be starring Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan!

This book was a selection for Book of the Month this April. I chose it because Charles Soule has written some of my favorite comics.
This book is about Will Dando, who receives several predictions from one dream. He posts select predictions on 'the Site' and he is known as 'The Oracle'. The government is after him, and religious sects are calling his the devil/blasphemer. It was impulsively readable.
But, it was just good. It wasn't great. Which, was a bummer. Because though it was readable, there was nothing new about it.

This is the absolute best animated superhero show I have ever seen. Young Justice has of course a wide array of "sidekicks" that pick up the slack while the Justice League is handling bigger issues. Sometimes they join with the League. Time and Time again the so called sidekicks have shown they can handle the big threats like the Justice League can. Even succeed where the League may have failed. If you love comics and superheroes, and a DC lover....Young Justice (season 1) is for you!

If you liked this I'd definitely recommend the umbrella academy it has a lot of the same elements but is more of an adult version because there's more gore but the whole thing is genuinely amazing same vibe of adventure aswell.

Good but not quite Marvellous
I was looking forward to this film to find out about Captain Marvel before Avengers Endgame arrives. I don't know much about the comics so from that point of view it's all new to me. The film is good and runs at a good pace with plenty of action. It follows a tried and tested Marvel formula the latest films have used. It's enjoyable but I don't think it's quite up there with the best origin story films or the Avengers series. Roll on to endgame!

I enjoyed this comic having never seen any of Dana Simpson's work before.

I have not been reading graphic novels for long but I do enjoy a fun story that has been cleverly coloured and well written artwork. I liked the flow of Ozy and Millie and will be searching out further work by Dana Simpson.

The forward makes reference to this being some of Dana Simpson's early work and that newer comics have improved with time - I liked this and don't see where the improvements could be made.
