Perfect mood lifting holiday read
I had this on my e-reader for holiday reading and it was perfect. Laugh out loud funny. Easy to read. Believable characters and plot. You can see the ending coming, but it did not disappoint. Recommend it as a good summer read.

I remember back when these films used to be relatively grounded.
If I say flying a jet-powered car in outer space happens in this, that will give you a clue how far the series has moved on since then.
The rest of the film? Completely ignores the laws of physics, with car chases, car crashes and shoot-out galore, yet with our heroes coming out of the same with nary a scratch on them.
Go for the stunts.
Leave your brain at home.

This book captivated me from beginning to end. I knew something was wrong from the start because everything about the job seemed to good to be true. I didn't think it would turn out to be complex as it was but that made me want to read it more. I felt bad for Alice because she didn't do anything wrong and the people that set her up came after for something they thought her father did and it later turned out he did nothing. And the truth about the lawyer, didn't see that coming at all. I'll definitely have to check out more books by this author!

Set in 1992 in Boston, this coming-of-age story attempts to tackle the issues of class and race as from the viewpoint of David Greenfeld, one of the few white kids entering King Middle School. There David meets Marlon, a quite boy living in public housing down the block from David’s house, and somehow, they become unlikely friends. Together they’re hoping to get out of King and into the prestigious Latin school, which could pave their way to getting into college, maybe even Harvard. You can read more about this coming-of-age story in my review here.
