"Me and my girlfriend couldn’t get this song out of our heads for a whole flight to New York. All we knew was the riff. When we landed, I ended up playing the melody on the piano and sending it as a voice note to my pals, asking ‘What the fuck is this song?’ I just knew it was a vaguely cheesy dance thing from the early 2000s that would have been on an Ibiza Creamfields-type compilation."

"He’s a dub reggae guy from the late ’70s. John Holt sang the original song ‘Man Next Door’. When we started the band, I had a clapped-out Mercedes Estate that I picked up for £60, and we used to drive everywhere in that car – to The Chateau where we used to play, and each others’ flats. This was on a compilation Paul had made, and we’d rewind the tape and listen to it over and over again."

"It was our second record and we'd gotten considerably better, and were gelling a lot more organically as a group. Soul Food was essentially meant to be a compilation album and we had stumbled upon our own strange brew, and then with Still Standing we went into business together. We totally defined Southern hip hop for what it could be; it could be impact and nationwide. It's still a record I'm proud of to this day."

Maybe it's my age but not one single track on this compilation is punk. Not even by todays standards is this at all punk. MTV Pop Punk? Jeez... do MTV even show music videos anymore? No doubt there is a market for this kind of rubbish and to a certain demographic the 'kids' will lap it up. Me though? Definitely not. Give me The Clash, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks etc any old day!

So, confession time first.

I picked this up recently, started reading it, got myself a bit lost and then found out I had missed a series in-between (collected in Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters).

Back I went, picked that up, and put his on hold to read that entry.

This now makes a bit more sense!

It also follows on more from the previous collection, with this being a compilation of issues 20-25 of the main-line Star Wars series, and with this bringing to a close the story of Imperial Commander Commander Ellian Zahra.

There's also an attempt to 'bring-in' characters from other Star Wars media spin-offs: most noticeably, Qi'Ra from the film 'Solo' but also Poe Dameron's parents. Final issue in the collection (issue #25) has nothing to do with the main-line characters (Luke, Leia, Han, etc) but is instead a compilation of 4 mini-stories starring (1) Obi-Wan and Anakin, pre RotS (2)Darth Vader (3)Kylo Ren and (4) Poe Dameron.
