The Doll Maker is a traditional suspense mystery with a lesbian twist. The main characters were both complicated and their internal conflict was as much an antagonist as the actually murderer. This is a new direction for Highton-Stevenson and I look forward to reading more in this direction.

Good humor and a positive message. (0 more)
It was a very cute movie. It had very good humor for a kids movie, even if some was a little grown up.( "I call it 50 shades of yay"). It also had a positive message about not using violence in a conflict.

The follow-up to The Strain continues apace, with the master on the loose and transformed following the rooftop conflict at the end of the first book. The momentum continues throughout and the action continues to unfold. Rated less than the first book because I preferred the origin/mystery aspect.

**Disclaimer: This is one of my favorite movies.
This movie holds up through multiple viewings. It's one of a very few (recent movies) concerning the Crusades, which is an interesting era of history. It was a nice balance of both sides of the conflict.
