I lover Jennifer!
I have had a crush on Jennifer Connelly for 30 years. She still looks great and has chosen many great roles over her career.
She is fantastic in this film about an unmotivated woman who gets tossed from her family home and then starts a conflict with the new owners because she feels they have unlawfully taken her home from her.
She befriends a deputy who decides to assist her in harassing the new owners until their conflict comes to a head.
Ben Kingsley and Shohreh Aghdashloo are also very good as the new homeowners who just want to be left alone.
The tense final half of the film is well worth the slightly slow moving first act.
Highly recommended.

An autobiography of epic proportions
For those who want to know about the horrors of the "War to end all wars" from the point of view from the Germans, this book is for you. The author Erich Maria Remarque had seen such a conflict, so he knows what he is talking about when it comes to the horrors of war.

What I liked - the characters, the bookstore, some of the language. What I didn't like - the amount of time it took to get to the heart of the matter. Something about the conflict avoidance in this book felt off to me

The war of the title is primarily one of the soul.Caesar’s revenge, when it comes, is told with poignant restraint. The conflict here is one of morality, identity and the boundaries of humanity; all the guns and napalm, are secondary to War’s purpose.

Will she, won’t she, who cares
I’ve read a lot of dystopian society and this one didn’t do it for me. Granted, I read it a while ago, but it’s always stuck with me as a flop for the genre. The world isn’t compelling and the main conflict is which boy do I want to be with: mystery or certainty.

This book was a quick read. The plot flowed really well. It was nice to see a main character my age although I can not relate to coming out that late in life. The internal conflict Mickey goes through really shows the complexity of coming out. The characters overall were very likeable and I have already gotten the next book in the series.

Very Enjoyable...And Cringy
I have to say, just when I thought I knew where things were going with Queen of Hearts, it totally threw me off the rails. I applaud the change in direction and is one of the numerous reasons I liked it. In this movie, a woman seduces her stepson and is faced with a tough decision as a result.
Acting: 10
Trine Dyrholm shines in a brilliant performance as mom Anne. I related to her conflict and the torment that followed. I was not only impressed with her but the entire cast of actors comprised in this movie.
Beginning: 10
The film doesn’t take a long time for the conflict to build. Even knowing what the movie is about, you’re still a bit at the edge of your seat waiting as the tension builds. After the first ten minutes, I knew what was coming and I was excited for it anyway.
Characters: 10
Conflict: 8
Entertainment Value: 9
Memorability: 7
Pace: 8
Plot: 10
Great story design from start to finish. Tension builds, it mounts, and just when you think things will settle, things get crazy again. I was entranced by this story and its reliance on deep characters to move the plot along.
Resolution: 5
I can’t speak for everyone, but the ending left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I felt it would happen, but it didn’t make it any easier of a pill to swallow when my fears were confirmed. No matter what, you have to understand with a story like this, it can’t end with sunshine and roses. Be prepared.
Overall: 87
Queen of Hearts is a rollercoaster of a story with intense conflict that steadily builds. I definitely didn’t see the twist coming which made me fully appreciate the value of the movie. Worth checking out!

Jessica Cashen (1 KP) rated Moon Blood (Book 2) in Books
May 16, 2018
Great read. Well written, with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. This book picks up right where book 1 left off. Kane and Moon are hiding out with Brolgio after the LA events. A Great vampire shifter story with conflict. I can't wait to read the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Another Great Book in The Lost Clan series. I absolutely loved this book, it is well written, great plot and characters. I like the conflict between the fairies and the hunters. Catori doesn't know who to trust and needs to follow her instincts. I was not expecting the romance at all. An overall great read. I received an ARC copy for a honest, voluntary review.

Interesting parallels to the Cold War (3 more)
Compelling mystery
A satisfying send-off for the TOS Crew
Ends the Federation conflict with the Klingons with peace rather than war
Ends the TOS movies on a high note.
Nicholas Meyer is brought back for the final film with Kirk and co. and like with "Khan" he brings the best out of the franchise.
