Bourne meets Kick Ass
Well I didn't know what to expect with this. It's kind of a mix of Bourne meets Kick Ass. It has some crazy action scenes to match the bonkers plot whilst being quite violent. Felt like a low budget indie film rather than a big studio film. Definitely leans more towards the violent action side than a comedy.

More of the same overall
If you liked the first film then you know what to expect second time around. Bigger budget, more characters but probably not as funny overall. Some sections, jokes are good but on the whole quite repetitive.
The plot was ok and leads to some big action scenes, with some crazy fights. Maybe not packing the punch of the first, but still very enjoyable for fans.

Well-written (3 more)
Interesting
Good characters
Intricate plot
Good but a little OTT
I really enjoyed the writing of this book. I felt the character development was good and the ideas behind some of the plot were interesting with some very unique twists. The ending just seemed to get more and more far-fetched with new crazy doomed day plans coming out of nowhere. I would recommend.

Barry Newman (204 KP) rated Ready or Not (2019) in Movies

Perhaps not quite as good as I was expecting from some of the reviews I have read nevertheless I still really enjoyed this. A relatively simple but kind of strange premise makes for some exciting gory thrills. I thought Samara Weaving was pretty good and made for a likeable charismatic lead as she strikes back against her batshit crazy new in-laws. Fast paced , thrilling and lots of fun.

David McK (3557 KP) rated Asterix the Gladiator (Asterix #4) in Books
Jul 7, 2020
One of the really early Asterix stories (from 1964), where Asterix and Obelisk head off to Rome to rescue Cacofonix the bard, who has been captured by the Romans stationed around the village, and taken in chains to Rome to be presented to Caesar/fed to the Circus.
I've also only just discovered that this is the first book in the series in which Obelisk says "These Romans are crazy!"
