A little different
Hard to think of this as a horror as it's a 12a (PG13), however I can see why as it is quite creepy and wouldn't be suitable for younger kids! An intriguing hole in the basement of a new house just has to be checked out by the young brothers, aided by the cute girl next door. They get a lot more than they bargained for when they decide to take the locks off and open the door.
It felt a bit like the 'Burbs/Disturbia, crossed with the Messengers. Which is no bad thing as they are all good films. It has some nice touches, set design and the young actors do a pretty good job. For those who like stronger horror don't be put off by the film rating.

It was ok
We have brown hair. Brown eyes. Fair skin. We are healthy and strong and smart. But only one of us has ever had a secret.

Dahlia 16 sees her face in every crowd. She’s nothing special—just one of five thousand girls created from a single genome to work for the greater good of the city.

Meeting Trigger 17 changes everything.

Not sure what I was expecting I really like Rachel Vincent's books. This wasn't to bad and I did enjoy it. Had a bit of a handmaid's tale vibe but of course on a smaller scale and it was quite creepy. I'm looking forward to seeing where the next book takes us.
Think I expected more than this book gave.

385. It Comes At Night. Paranoid much? Something out in the world is killing everybody, so its a good thing Paul, Sarah and Travis live in the middle of nowhere and their very strict lifestyle has kept them alive. And then someone had to go ahead and break into the house and ruin everything. Paul catches the trespasser and after some intense interrogation we learn his name is Will, and further out in the woods is his wife and small child waiting for his return. After things are calmed down, they come to agreement to combine resources and live together. Sounds like a great idea right? Until the end of the world comes knocking! I really liked it. Had a great creepy atmosphere, good acting. Check it out! Filmbufftim on FB

I actually read Simone St. James’ incredibly spooky ghost story—set in a creepy motel—in a rather drab hotel room and boy did it scare me! The tag line: The secrets lurking in a rundown motel ensnare a young woman, just as they did her aunt thirty-five years before...

This was such a great book. It features a hard to put down mystery with excellent characters and some downright terrifying scenes! The book is packed with twists and turns, and it's absolutely captivating.

The parallelism between Viv’s story—set in the 1980s—and her niece, Carly’s, in present-day, is excellent. I was so attached to these tough women and their stories. The 1980s piece really grabbed me; St. James really captures the era so well.

A Creepy Psychological Film
I am truly becoming a fan of this director's work. This film although labeled as horror does not rely on the typical jump scares and gimmicks of many modern day horror films. Rather he thinks out of the box, creating a whole new kind of horror that focuses on the mind, the psychology of the human person.
This film takes a look at not only the dark psychology of the human mind but the dark workings of society. I wont spoil anything for those yet to watch it but this film will leave you unnerved in a new light, making you think a little bit deeper but only if you really want to. Either way you have a truly enjoyable twisted film.

Were it all began
This movie may be as old as it gets, but It has stood the test of time and really like it. No one amazed me more than Donald Pleasance himself as Dr. Samuel Loomis, we all know how much of a legendary actor he is and I have never been more convinced. Everyone else play there roles brilliantly and everything else about this movie was so awesome, but in reality it's normally the characters that get the most credit with Halloween we also need to think and look at the music used and how it elevates the story. You've got to see this timeless classic, it puts the night of Halloween in a pretty creepy but mysterious perspective for all generations. I garuntee it!

"Now I’m going a little more up-to-date modern. My fourth one would probably have to be Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal. I just really liked it. It was one of those movies that’s creepy but really entertaining and just different, and I really, really enjoyed that. When I saw the previews for it last year, I was like, “Man I really want to see it.” And I never got to because — we go to the movies often, but not as much. But whenever I do, I always want to go see a good movie; I want to see a movie I’d been wanting to see. So since I wasn’t able to watch it, I rented it the first day it came out, and I thought wow this movie is really, really good."
