OK, this film isn't trying to do anything new. A bunch of friends decide to head off hiking and take a wrong turn/short cut into the woods. Luckily for us, they don't meet James Corden singing, instead they start to feel like they're being followed, have weird dreams and are eventually stalked by a strange giant monster (which is gradually revealed over time).
This does have a feel of the blair witch but benefits from not having that annoying "found footage" aspect where people running for their lives insist on filming the event.
The film builds tension brilliantly, has some particularly creepy moments and doesn't fall down for trying to explain what is happening too much. Rafe Spall is excellent and none of the characters make any stupid illogical decisions that cause you to shout at the screen.

So it took me a long time to pick this up, mainly due to the artwork, more like the faces, more specifically the girls' faces are weird and squishy-square. But then I saw the horror show that was Squirrel Girl's debut....

In addition, the story and Twitter feeds are totally effing funny. And cute. And perfect in almost every way. Except the squirrel suit. Because that's just weird and creepy.
And oh yeah, where can I get her roommate Nancy's posters because they're awesome:

An incredibly creepy look at sociopaths
This psychological thriller is unlike most others because there isn't a big reveal as such but it is based on the behaviour of the criminal mind.
In this case, we look at Oliver, who is a sociopath, and feels very little remorse for the terrible crimes he has committed but instead feels aggrieved at his lack of entitlement.
While half of the book is written from his perspective looking back at his past, the rest is written by people around him who believe they could sense his immoral behaviour. Hence it is a case of whether it is nature of nurture that has forced him to behave in such way, and if society truly did think that he was a monster. Interesting concept, but as expected, you'll hate the main character.

Very unique storytelling
If you are a Christopher Nolan fan, or even a fan of movies that make you think, you should give Memento a try.
The story is pretty simple about a man (Guy Pearce) who is trying to remember details relating to the murder or death of his wife. The problem: the suffers from short term memory loss and wakes up every day having to start over.
Maybe like a serious version of Groundhog Day, Memento is such a fascinating slow burn, slow reveal of details. As the man encounters the creepy individuals who inhabit his life, he does not know who to trust or how the puzzle pieces will ultimately fit together.
If you watch the movie 10 times, you will find different layers in it each time.
A must watch!

Nice supernatural horror

I watched this after seeing it on Netflix and i am glad i did. It is a good supernatural horror about a man who is wheelchair bound (eckhart) after a confrontation with a demon left his wife and son dead. He now specialises in enter possessed peoples minds in order to find the demon, expel it and free the possessed person. He has a hidden agenda as he wants to confront the demon that took his wife and child from him and left him disabled. Its got just the right amount of creepy moments and the demonic possession is done really well. It could have been made more gory and horrific but i think that the way its done makes it stand out more. All in all well worth a watch :)

Dont Let The Bed Bugs Bite.
This is such a underrated horror jem. It will make you more afarid of bugs. Bugs are scary, bugs are terrorfying, bugs are horrorfying and this movie will make you afarid of bugs. Those bed bugs though, those bed begs are nasty.
Both Ashley Judd and Micharl Shannon do a excellent job in this movie.
The Plot: At a rundown desert motel, Agnes (Ashley Judd) begins a tentative relationship with a newcomer named Peter (Michael Shannon). He has a strange charisma, one that offers fearful and unstable Agnes a flicker of hope. When Peter reveals that the military deliberately infected him with a bug and that he has tiny insects crawling under his skin, paranoia begins to envelop the desperate pair.
Paranoia, suspense, creepy, terrorfying and overall a underratee horror jem.

Offbeat Anglo-Austrian contribution to the botanical horror subgenre possibly makes too much of a virtue of understatement. A dedicated researcher breeds a special new flower with the ability to affect its owner's mood. But has she underestimated her creation's influence?
Clearly a movie which has been made with the greatest care and thought; every camera move and composition has obviously been planned for a reason. The plot is ultimately a somewhat derivative one (elements of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and perhaps even Rosemary's Baby are in the mix), but the slow-burning slide from normality into something rather unsettling is impeccably done, helped a lot by a strong performance from Emily Beecham in the lead role. The lack of a big, obvious genre climax is probably going to be an issue for many people, but very creepy and watchable nevertheless.

Not as scary as blurb suggests
Creepy but over described
I enjoyed this book overall, the blurb makes the villain seem a lot more threatening than he actually is, not that there aren't some gross parts. The plot was interesting and I like how it dealt with a unique disease.
The scene was set quite well early on but I think more could have been done to elicit this throughout the book.
I liked the main detective and the psychologist, I could see a sequel in the future with the usual love hate relationship emerging between them.
There were a few instances where the story was a little unbelievable, particularly around the flooring scene. Plus some of the facts of the case are happened upon and theories are very much close to the truth.
