So this was a re-read because I was feeling nostalgic for high school when I didn't have to think about having a job. I loved this series in high school, even though I thought (and still think) Patch is a little creepy. There is just something about the writing that I loved. Also, I love Vee and Nora's friendship and all the twists and turns in the series. I am glad I gave this a re-read.

This one was a strange read. It didn’t have much of a storyline to it, but I still felt melancholic after reading it.

This story is reminiscent of going through something shocking and coming out the other side of it lost and alone. I like it but it was very sad and made me feel lonely.

Sad, slightly creepy and slow moving, this one is definitely not something you want to pick up after a traumatic event.

Great mix of the weird, creepy and wonderful. (0 more)
Great Anthology of stories
This is a great book that fans of Stephen King will love. 23 stories of varying length that have all the trademarks of his stories. Some aren't so great and very short, but the majority of stories I would rate 7-10 individually. The stand out stories are:
Dolan's Cadillac
The Night Flier
Chattery Teeth
Dedication
Sorry Right Number
The Ten O'clock people
The Doctor's case.

Unsettling and creepy!
Yes I am reviewing the Echo dot! Since we bought this we have maybe used it 3 or 4 times. On the other hand Alexa has taken it upon herself to think every word that sounds like Alexa is her que to contribute to the conversation, whether this is a tv conversation, song or just a household chat. From being excited about this product I was really disappointed. She now lives in a drawer.

Sucky film

And we have a winner for one of the worst horror films I have ever seen. It was a creepy premise - kids with night terrors grow up and the monsters who stalked them as children come back to get them. But it wasn't. It was dull and depressing. I hate movies that break the very rules they set up. Oh and if you have a boyfriend who is OK with drugging you? Break up with him.

Surprisingly decent
Ok this haunted house/ghost story turned out better than expected. Started off a little slow but picked up and took off with interesting tales and some creepy creatures. If you're into horror stories this is a good one. The acting was not the greatest but ther effects and stories had plenty of grossness and spookiness to make up for it. Nothing too scary for the younger crowd(IF they're not too young). Worth a watch!

Guilty of being a terrible film
Another film to avoid on Netflix. Hoped this would be some sort of creepy film set at a boarding school. Not scary or suspenseful at all. Really feels like a cheap made for TV film. Plot is so simple but the films drags so much it feels twice as long. Hoped for better when I saw Kelly Reilly in the cast. Do not add to your watch list!

Classic Chiller!
Classic chiller from Peter Straub. An epic tale about a group of ageing men who form The Chowder Society, a place where they share ghosts stories between them, and are united by a terrible secret from the past. Expertly written, solid characters, and genuinely creepy, this is Peter Staub on top form. Essential reading!
Note: If you enjoy this I seriously recommend his equally fantastic ghost story Full Circle (aka Julia/ The Haunting of Julia).

Unsettling but confused
This is the kind of horror film I usually enjoy. Something atmospheric, creepy and a little unusual, without the need to go over the top on horrific CGI or predictable jump scares. Wounds succeeds with this and the horror scenes are enjoyably creepy and unsettling. The problem is pretty much the rest of the film.

Armie Hammer and Zazie Beetz are very good, and when they're on screen together they're great, but the rest of the cast are left with little to work with and Dakota Johnson's character is a complete waste of space. The main issue is that the plot is rather weird, which would be fine if there was a decent explanation at the end but the ending is severely lacking and makes for a lot of confusion. The tone of the film also feels more like a drama with a bit of horror thrown in rather than a full on horror - with a little less of the drama and a little more exposition this might have been a decent film.
