Received through GR's First Reads program.
It's going to take me a while to read through the whole book, therefore I'm marking it read so it's not staring at me accusingly anymore. Seriously, it's making me nervous! ;D

Fast game to play
This was a quick little game. Since it is a two-player, my friend and I played it while our DM put the last few touches on a one-off D&D campaign. It took about 20 minutes from learning to play to checking the final scores. I enjoyed the puzzle aspect of the game, though I don't always have the spatial awareness to determine how a piece would fit on my board so my piece of patchwork had many holes!
Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Theft of Swords (The Riyria Revelations, #1-2) in Books
Mar 1, 2018
While it dragged a little in some places, overall this was a wonderful book. Royce and Hadrian bring back fond memories of characters from past RPGs. That isn't to say that Theft of Swords feels like one of those dreadful "I wrote down what happened in my D&D campaign and called it a novel" things, because that certainly is not the case! It's more that I felt as if I knew these characters, that I was there with them, and I seldom get that from any author.

Trés Horny Boys 4 lyf
I've listened to the McElroy family's 1st D&D campaign, The Balance Arc through at least twice, and it gives me all of the feelings.
It's like reading a really good fantasy series, except you had a full cast narrating and none of them knew what was going to happen.
The boys are now on their second arc, Amnesty. Already I'm feeling in love with these characters. Griffin is such a good storyteller (they all are).
Thank you brothers (and Clint) for the beautiful and hilarious stories.

My favorite board game
This is hands down my favorite table top game. It unfolds in two parts both of which I greatly enjoy. The first is building the house (discovering new rooms where events, items, and omens occur). It has a cool co-op feel as well. The haunts are always exciting because you really have no idea what's going to happen. It becomes D&D lite and some haunts are less fun than others buy it greatly increases playability.
