A series that will grow
Hmm, this is a toughie for me. I enjoy reading Karen Ellis' books and love her characters but I admit that I struggled to get into this one. I can only think this is because there is a lot of background information on the main character Elsa and although very important as it explains the motivations pushing her and the daily struggle she has with her inner demons, it did interrupt the flow of the story for me. Having said that, when another in the series comes out, I would give it a go as I think now we have the history out of the way, the story will come to the fore with the intrigue, twists and excitement Karen Ellis is adept at creating.

Thanks to the publisher, Hodder & Stoughton, and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

Time for you to rewatch it!
Recently rewatching the original "The Godfather" with my son really supported again all the fame, longevity and praise the film has gotten over the years.

The movie does take its time telling its story of the daily life of the Corleone family and how the lives of the family interact with themselves and with stark contrast to the outside word, but the journey is worth the ride.

The characters are all so brilliantly, deeply written and acted, they are just a joy to watch. The cinematography is also a character in the film as it has such a unique look and feel, it transports you into their realm almost immediately.

If it has been awhile, time to give the film another viewing. If you haven't seen, shame on you and watch it now!!

Such a great book. Michelle was diagnosed with a brain tumor...instead of feeling sorry for herself, she and her husband, Ed, embarked on a voyage around the globe for 105 days. Each page in the book is written like a journal entry of their travels and life aboard the ship. There are photos on each page, along with the coordinates for that particular day and a quote. There are several layers to this book/story - (1) the travelogue; (2) Michelle's diagnosis and treatment(s); and (3) the treasure hunt. I have not yet embarked on deciphering the treasure hunt as I've already loaned the book out to someone else to read. While reading the book, I felt like I was there with them in every port of call and through the ship's daily activities, including fighting for the ability to do laundry! I highly recommend this book to everyone.

The issues that arise in the story (revenge, grief, friendship, search for thr truth etc) Buckbeak! Introduction of Sirius. (0 more)
By far my favorite Harry potter book.
Contains spoilers, click to show
Ive always found this book to be my favorite out of the whole series purely because Harry finds some family...his godfather, whom after a convoluted storyline he realises isnt set out to murder him. Its the only book where I feel he actually has a few happy moments in his life and is discovering who he is and achieves a bit of character stability. I love how the story handles the introduction of Sirius and displays the political and media spin that happens in the background (between the bad reporting on the daily prophet and ministry of magic). Also the trio (Harry, Ron and hermoine) seem to have solid bonds of friendship grow tighter in this storyline.

This game is still relatively new, possibly in its beta testing still but it's really enjoyable and there is very little I can think of that's bad. The graphics and animations are great, there are many little quests to complete, including daily objectives, and you can find yourself lost in it for a long time. The rewards for completing each battle, each quest, are worth the time spent, which with then get plowed back in to the characters you are trying to build up.
However, the load screen does seem to take more than a minute or so to load, and the mini transactions within the game are a little steep. Other than that it's really enjoyable. I live watching all the different animations as each character attacks one another. So far, farmer Hector dropping a pumpkin on the enemy's head is my favourite!
