I've heard some pretty scathing reviews of this film but I really enjoyed it! Jean is a rich character in the x-men universe who really deserved her own feature. It was a darker film which harked back to original x-men and I enjoyed that immensely

Quite an improvement over the previous volume! I could actually feel the grime and coal soot from the streets of Victorian England! It had a Dickens feel to it, with some darker, steampunk aspects to it! It was good enough to maintain my interest for the entirety of it, as well as keeping me on board for the new volume, LA DAMA de la MUERTE!

Being the first Stephen King book I've read and my interest piqued by the Netflix movie trailer, I had a vague idea of what I was getting myself into. I don't mind a long book but I feel like the story could have been told in a somewhat shorter way but still appreciated the descriptiveness and detail. I wasn't prepared for just how dark this story would get. It just got darker and darker the further I got in (I'm no stranger to the macabre or disturbing but parts still affected me greatly). The writing was amazing, relatable in it's own way. You could really feel the main characters wide range of emotions each time she was faced with something new. This was definitely the first time I've read a book where I had to pause to give myself a moment to fight back the bile trying to rise up my throat because the description of one of the darker parts was so vividly recounted (Chapter 31 for anyone wondering). Regardless of this physical manifestation, I did find the book very interesting and would recommend it (although I think I'd be careful who I did so with because I think it could be quite triggering to anyone who has experienced sexual assault of any kind as it is very realistically told in that aspect).

Expands the Potter universe
In some ways I preferred this to the first film. The story was more interesting and revealed a fair bit more info on certain characters from the Potter films. It's definitely darker in tone with a lot less humour than the first film. If you have knowledge of the other Harry Potter films you're more likely to enjoy it.

Songs that stick with you and have you humming them for days (3 more)
Humour, some awesome one liners
Emotional depth and even some good role modelling for men showing emotion
Loveable characterisation
Funny and deeply emotional
A very worthy sequel, which is difficult when the first was such a big hit. Had some darker moments than the first but so emotionally rich and visually beautiful.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. You start out with a plethora of questions and, unlike in many modern day thriller/horror movies, you actually get a majority of them answered. A lot darker than I was expecting it to be. Though some points, especially in the beginning, are a little slow moving, once it gets moving, it doesnt stop. Would recommend any horror fans give it a chance.
