Three years ago, Lelle's daughter went missing in a remote part of Northern Sweden. Lelle has spent the intervening summers driving the Silver Road under the midnight sun, frantically searching for his lost daughter, for himself and for redemption.

Meanwhile, seventeen-year-old Meja arrives in town hoping for a fresh start. She is the same age as Lelle's daughter was - a girl on the brink of adulthood. But for Meja, there are dangers to be found in this isolated place.

As autumn's darkness slowly creeps in, Lelle and Meja's lives are intertwined in ways, both haunting and tragic, that they could never have imagined.

I couldn’t put this down! It was just so heartbreaking and so chilling! So well written it just kept you turning the page. I think this is all parents worse nightmare having their child disappear without any leads. Truly heartbreaking story of two lives being brought together.

This, I felt, is in many ways a spiritual successor to 'The Good Place', with many of the cast from that earlier show appearing in this (mainly in bit parts).

Here, Ted Danson plays a lonely widower who, following the death of his wife from Alzheimer's, seems to be drifting more and more away from having any meaning in life himself, and from his own daughter, until that daughter challenges him to find something to do with his time.

So he answers a newspaper ad, and is hired to infiltrate an OAP home, following the hiring of a Private Detective (who is too young to do so herself) to investigate the potential theft in said OAP.

And, of course, Charles finds himself connecting more and more with the residents and staff of the OAP, as well as with his daughter, as a result, in a 'feel good' series that still also has its share of sad moments ...

Very underrated study of a woman's personal grief and her attempt to keep her sanity as she flies home with her husband's casket and daughter in tow.
The film touches on many themes and has many twists, and Foster is very believable, a good watch.

My daughter is a video game screen nerd and won't choose to exercise or go play outside without prompting. I love using this app to go catch Pokemon with her and can usually get her to go for a 20 minute walk with me.
