"I was excited that I had the chance to sing something in [happythankyoumoreplease]. I did a lot when I was younger and I haven’t in such a long time, but I grew up doing musicals and musical theater. That was my real passion and I soon as I started doing films, when I was 14, I did less. I would love to do movie musicals or Broadway. [A music biopic] would be a dream of mine… that leads into my favorite movies. Coal Miner’s Daughter is my all-time favorite movie. A lot of that has to do with that’s just a dream sort of ideal role for me. I love country music. I love the idea of playing a country singer and the whole thing, I love it. And I love Sissy Spacek. So yeah, that’s one of my favorites."

"A dystopian novel that feels like it could be happening today, where women who either can’t or won’t carry their own pregnancies rent the wombs of a hand-picked cohort of gestational surrogates, who spend their nine months being closely monitored in a posh resort that’s like Canyon Ranch meets the panopticon. The story follows Jane, a poor surrogate from the Philippines, desperate to obtain a better life for her daughter, and the women around her, from the older nanny who hooks her up with the gig to the wealthy young striver who dreamed up the business to a fellow surrogate who has reasons of her own for participating in the project. Nobody’s motives are pure and, when one of the surrogates threatens to expose the Farm, it turns out that the business of surrogacy is as complicated as motherhood itself."

Its been a while since I've reviewed anything - combination of split Working from Home / Working in the Office, homeschooling kids, and general malaise has made playing games too much like hard work at the moment - which is rubbish.

However, I got a few new games over Christmas (Monster Mansion, a version of Mysterium, and a couple of others) which are review-worthy, and I've ordered Star Saga which *SHOULD* arrive on Saturday. Hopefully, at some point over the weekend, I can get a couple of reviews done.

Longer term, I also have a few Kickstarters which are expected in the next 2-6 months, from Pugs in Mugs (mostly for my daughter!) to Lawyer Up, to Merchants Cove, and a few others too! Should be interesting, and hopefully I can introduce a few brand new games to everyone.

Her life is devoted to justice; for those she never even knew. In the year since Temperance Brennan left behind a shaky marriage in North Carolina, work has often preempted her weekend plans to explore Quebec. When a female corpse is discovered meticulously dismembered and stashed in trash bags, Temperance detects an alarming pattern and she plunges into a harrowing search for a killer. But her investigation is about to place those closest to her, her best friend and her own daughter, in mortal danger...

Really good!

I had no idea it was connected to the TV series Bones when I started reading it, very glad I didn't although Im glad I was told as it helped picturing Temperance. Loved the book although remind me not to be eating while reading 🤣. Looking forward to getting stuck into the series!!

Crawl (2019)
2019 | Horror, Thriller
Trying to pigeonhole Crawl is difficult. Kaya S. plays a collegiate swimmer who receives a call from her sister worried about their father, a martinet swimming coach. Florida is facing a Category 5 hurricane and everyone is supposed to evacuate. However, their father went back to their childhood home and is now trapped in the crawlspace with shock from an alligator bite. Now father and daughter must battle farm-raised alligators. I am pretty sure that building a drain pipe near an alligator farm in storm-threatened Florida was boneheaded as was having both male and female gators. The movie never really addresses the eggs Kaya finds except for one scene with a baby gsator that possibly nips her. One doesn't go to a creature feature expected highly intelligent characters or plot so overall the film entertains and leaves the audience joyfilled.

Ice Hockey & Romance
Kindle recommended Whiskey’s work after I had devoured my way through Helena Hunting’s books on the same theme... Ice Hockey and Romance, and I was not disappointed.

Bailey and Gage have been friends since they were children, and after a previous accident, Bailey stepped in to support Gage by becoming a live-in nanny for his adorable daughter Scarlett.
Great in theory, but the undeniable attraction between Bailey and Gage could not go ignored. But will it be enough for a happy ending?

I really enjoyed reading the first in the Seattle Sharks series, getting to know the sharks and learning the heart warming story of the blossoming passion and love between Bailey and Gage.

The story was wonderfully well written, and the energy and emotions were palpable. I look forward to reading the others in the series.
