Good morning, my lovelies! It's National Red Rose Day today, and this quote has always charmed me, because there's something so genuinely lovely about the idea of a garden full of roses as something alive and attentive. To me, it feels very much in keeping with the way the old stories always understood the natural world to be.

Have a Fabulous Friday. Take care and stay safe. đź’™

I really enjoyed this book. The setting skips between present day, where a girl raised in foster care meets an elderly lady and finds they have a lot in common. The present day chapters are told in third person. The flashback chapters depicting the older lady's childhood is told in first person and spans from her early childhood to mid-twenties.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator was very good. There were some parts that were heartbreaking and hard to listen to, but overall, the book was very well-written. There were a few parts of the plot I wish were different, but those parts are what made the book feel more realistic.

Today is Dydd Santes Dwynwen—the Welsh Day of Love 💕, a celebration rooted in the story of Saint Dwynwen, the patron saint of lovers in Wales. According to legend, Dwynwen prayed to be freed from a love she could not have, and her devotion and compassion led her to become a protector of others’ hearts.

Her story is remembered each year on January 25th, especially in connection with Llanddwyn Island on Anglesey, where a well dedicated to her was once believed to hold omens for the future of relationships. Over time, the day has become a Welsh alternative to Valentine’s Day, marked by cards, small gifts, and traditional lovespoons—beautifully carved wooden tokens symbolising affection, commitment, and care.

Today feels like a gentle invitation to celebrate all forms of love: romantic, friendship, family, and the quiet kind we offer ourselves. May your day be filled with warmth, kindness, and a few heartfelt moments to share with those who matter most. 🌹✨

A Modern Classic
Very few albums manage to successfully capture the mentality of a generation and give so many people something to care about. This is what the Stone Roses did in 1989 with their eponymous debut album.
This album is more than just music, it is a feeling that was captured and put to music. Inspirational to no end and iconic to this day. An absolutely fantastic first album that deserves its legacy and is still relevant in today's musical landscape.
