Kai (5 KP) rated The Fractured Life of Jimmy Dice in Books

I really enjoyed this book in the end. It was not easy to read, or a happy story, however it was really well done and I applaud ghetto author for tackling such difficult topics.

cn for anyone who does pick this up, multiple discussions of death (adult and child), sexual assault and rape, and suicide. As I said, not always an easy read.

Thrilling
If you're into death, blood and guts then this is your film.
It's not as bad as I just made it sound.
You MUST READ THE BOOKS then and only then can you watch the films with the correct mindset.
Beautifully thrilling.
I loved the character and I loved the story. These fiction films are persued well giving they're based on the books. ????

Quite a complicated magic system to get your head round, but it isn't done to death (it is hinted at early but is only really used in earnest quite a lot later in the book). There are aspects of other parts of the cosmere hinted at here (the gods being similar to those in elantris, using material items for powers). A good standalone contribution to the universe.

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would.
This is a story about learning who you truly are, fighting the system, and overcoming death even if it is temporary. Add in a slow build romance that feels real and you have rosemarked.
Zivah and Dineas's story is told from alternating points of view. The author does a fantastic job of portraying each view point.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2171 KP) rated Death of a Cozy Writer (St. Just Mystery #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When a best selling mystery writer invites his children to his English manor, murder makes an appearance. I enjoyed the good, but I really felt like the main character was a bit too cardboard. The other characters certainly made up for it.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2171 KP) rated Still Life (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The death of a retired school teacher shocks the community of Three Pines. But was it an accident or murder? It took me quite a while to sort out the characters. Once I did, I really got hooked on them and the story.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2171 KP) rated Death Dines in in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A mostly fun collection of food related murder by a wide variety of authors. A few of the mysteries were rushed at the end, but for a most part they worked. However, there was one story that was disturbing and I didn't care for at all.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2171 KP) rated Consigned to Death (Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Josie's new antique auction house in New Hampshire is beginning to take off, but then a potential wealthy client is found murdered and Josie is a suspect. The plot and characters were good, but the ending was weaker than it should have been.

Jessica Erdas (463 KP) rated Grey's Anatomy - Season 3 in TV
Jun 12, 2018
Some of the interns, again, find themselves in harms way and barely escaping death as they continue to navigate the halls of Seattle Grace. Tragedy after tragedy befalls our heroine as she tries to touch base with who she truly is as a surgeon and otherwise. Boundaries are again crossed and pushed to their limit. Relationships constantly being built and torn down all around our favorite interns.
Andy K (10821 KP) rated Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead (1994) in Movies

Continuing the gruesome Tall Man saga
These movies seem a lot like the Evil Dead franchise in that one movie picks up right where the other leaves off and is one linear story the whole way through. This entry was still pretty good with the usual gruesome bits and flying death spheres of fun. Not as much action in this one as the first two.
