Lady Georgiana sets out to start life on her own in 1920's London. Unfortunately, her social status means she isn't fit for any normal job. Even worse, there's the dead man in her bathtub. The mystery starts late, but I enjoyed every moment of this series debut.

The hardcover debut wasn't quite up to par. Madeline and crew are catering the wrap party for the new foodie TV game show that is all the rage. It just didn't mesh quite as well as the others for me. Still, an enjoyable enough book but could have been better.

Shauna J. Bogart, Sacramento talk show host, is devastated when her fellow talk show host Dr. Hipster is murdered. When the police rule it a suicide, she starts to investigate. This debut grabbed me from the start with the real characters and the fast paced twisty plot.

Loved this debut novel, not only did I feel as though the story was one never quite told like this I really loved the way it captured real grief and how it can tear a family apart or bring them together and now race/gender is something that almost always impacts a persons life and outlook on things, especially in a mixed race family in the early 60s.
