Chloe (514 KP) rated Inside Out (2015) in Movies
Mar 5, 2019
Not really sure what age this is ranged at because although everything seems very child friendly and like a typical Disney movie the hidden themes suggest otherwise. To be honest though I think they did a good job for presenting these themes.
I watched this when I was about 17 and found it ok if a bit simplified in some area which is to be expected it being mainly family orientated but to be honest I love a bit of Disney to cheer me up although obviously I didn't get that from this.
Despite my personal tastes the movie itself has a good solid plot and a relatable and identifiable character as the main character is just experiencing regular life. I did like how they didn't shy away from presenting what happens when you can be in a bad situation as it increases awareness.

Great way to approach different emotions (1 more)
Upbeat while dealing with sensitive matter
Love love love love love it
Absolutely adore this movie.
It is a great way of explaining different emotions & how sometimes we can be happy one moment then sad the next to both younger children & people that may have issues regarding emotions.
It addresses some sensitive issues while still managing not to become too depressing.
It's not just because I love all things Disney that I love this movie. The music score is perfect for what is happening. It addresses something that we all experience at one point or more in our lives, and helps normalise the feelings we may have during the change.
Can't wait until my son (1 year old) is able to sit through a full movie as this is one of the many disney movies I plan on getting him to watch.

Matthew Krueger (10051 KP) rated Hercules (1997) in Movies

Go The Distance
I love this movie, this is one of my favorite animation films of all time. Its a classic. You have great songs like.."The Gospel Truth", "Go The Distance", "Zero to Hero", "I Wont Say" and "A Star is Born".
The plot: Disney tackles Greek mythology in this animated feature. Hercules (Tate Donovan), a son of gods, was snatched as a baby by Hades (James Woods) and forced to live among mortals as a half-man, half-god. Now a teenager, Hercules needs to perform a rite of passage on Earth to prove himself worthy of living with the gods on Mount Olympus. With his plucky satyr sidekick, Philoctetes (Danny DeVito), along for the ride, Hercules must learn how to use his strength to defeat a series of evil creatures.
Such a excellent, classic disney animation movie.

This app is life!
It's a great app & I love the easy access to all things Disney! As a huge fan of the films, tv & music there is so much to get my teeth into & I love rewatching old favourites. There are a few gaps- things that haven't appeared on there yet, but I'm hoping they'll keep adding to the old library of 90s cartoons! I just wish that new film/TV was more up to date with the releases on other mediums.

The T-Rex paddock scene (3 more)
Amazing Sfx and animatronics bringing the dinosaurs to life
Great score by John Williams
Richard Attenborough
Another Spielberg classic
One of the first films to have the technology to make dinosaurs look real. It's a great concept, who wouldn't want to visit a Dinosaur theme park. Unlike Disney World though when things go wrong the guests don't get eaten! Probably one of my most watched films.

Educational
Personally, I loved this book. A full-on fairy-tale itself, it incorporates so many details that I wouldn't have even thought of. Very few plot holes were left open, and I loved how the author incorporated details from the original versions of the books, and not only the Disney versions.
I loved the way this book went, full of surprises and so many amazing things. Definetely worth your time.

Erika (17788 KP) rated Star Wars: Dark Disciple in Books

This book is based upon a script from the Clone Wars TV show, which ended a little abruptly when Disney took over Lucasfilm. Since Clone Wars is part of the new canon, this book is new canon.
I really liked getting to know more about Ventress. The story was engaging, and I read it in a few days. Though, I do wish this was a few episodes of Clone Wars.

Erika (17788 KP) rated Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) in Movies

Based upon the ride at Disneyworld/Disneyland, Pirates of the Caribbean is a fun film. The action is good, and I love the combination of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. The story was well put together. Disney definitely tried to recreate the magic with the further POTC films, and other films based upon rides.
This film definitely made pirates popular to the extreme, which was alright with me.
