I really enjoyed this.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the amount of 1 and 2 star reviews for this, but I have to say I liked it. Okay, so it wasn't a typical paranormal romance. It has several gory scenes and some scary characters but there's still romance in it. And it's probably leaning more toward Urban Fantasy with a splash of Horror mixed in. I'll say it isn't for the squeamish because there are some detailed scenes of deformity and injuries and it isn't always pretty reading.

I really liked the two main characters, Nathan and Carrie, and some of the lesser seen ones; Ziggy, Max and the butler that I've currently forgotten the name of :S.

The progression of Carrie from concerned Doctor to kick-arse vampire hunter was an interesting journey and I loved her relationship with Nathan. They are so good together.

He’s trying to turn them into humans, but he mostly fails, and so he has these horrible creatures trapped, and they’re enslaved. And it’s an amazing, dark, terrifying film. And — this is true — when it came out in 1932, audiences found it so horrifying, people threw up in their seats. They threw up in the movie, they were so horrified by this film. I love that. "This is the Keith Sweat album I like the most; you never get a second chance to make a first impression. The production of Teddy Riley… he was just the man. And Keith Sweat is a sexy name. It has a lot of character; it's like he was born to make this record. It was his birthright, just through that name alone. I was in the seventh grade I believe when it came out, and got it straight away. There's a song called 'Right and A Wrong Way' and it starts with these two chords, and then it just goes "BOOM"! Back then, we used to sit and doctor our speakers - I had these house speakers and I took the covers off and rewire them, trying to be technical. I'd lay the speaker down on its back, and I'd sprinkle powder in the woofer just for my own amusement. And then… BOOM! [mimes powder explosion]. That's why I remember that album."
