A Romance Reader's Reviews
This was a recommendation on Goodreads after finishing Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda so when I saw it on Amazon today as a 99p deal, I just went and bought it. As a graphic novel, it's a quick read and I did find it very cute.
So Charlie is an openly gay young man in an English all-boys school. He's a really good runner and is invited by his form group seating partner, Nick, to join the rugby team as they are needing new players. The pair grow close as they spend time practising the game and talking in their form group and spend time around at each others houses. Charlie quickly falls for Nick but Nick's straight, right?
I did really like this. The storyline was engaging and I really felt for these two characters.
The artwork was a little strange at times but really detailed at others. I loved head on shots, the dog ♡, the trainers/converse near the end.
I would love to continue this at some point since it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.

4.5 stars.
I'll start by saying that the only reason I read this was because of this reading list on BookLikes: http://booklikes.com/apps/reading-lists/146/books-to-fall-in-love-with
And I'm really glad that I did because despite the cover, which I'll admit put me off quite a bit, I really enjoyed this story. I totally get the cover now too after reading it.
To put it bluntly one of the main characters is a porn star and our lead female meets him at a porn convention (I didn't even know these existed! Maybe it's more of an American thing since I've never heard of them in the UK). And they meet and get along famously. From there it's a series of meetings and get-togethers with other friends that eventually leads to something more and I LOVED IT!
I'm a sucker for a good romance with an interesting plot and this certainly had that. I loved Triston. And Kat. And the rest of the gang, including the dog!
If you like a funny read with sex toys, romance and crazy friends then this would be the perfect read for you.

Emma @ The Movies (1786 KP) rated Hostiles (2017) in Movies

In 1892, legendary Army Capt. Joseph Blocker reluctantly agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to their tribal land. Embarking on a harrowing and perilous journey from Fort Berringer, N.M., to the grasslands of Montana, they soon encounter a young widow whose family was killed on the plains. The travellers must now band together to survive a punishing landscape that's crawling with hostile Comanches and vicious outliers.
I nearly gave this one a miss, but with my back being a little buggered this week, and cinema seats being surprisingly comfy, I decided to give it a go. Thanks to Cineworld on Twitter for endeavouring to cheer me up with some vouchers too... tonight's movie was accompanied by a free drink and hot dog.
But anyway, to the film!
That had to be the most harrowing beginning to a film I have seen in a very long time. Hostiles has wonderfully crafted pieces, and Rosamund Pike gives such a powerful performance of a mother's loss. Another films that I probably wouldn't have watched before getting my Unlimited Card, but a very surprising, and shocking watch.
