A more tense game
Adding another type of card to collect. Ships
It’s hard to get everything you need drawing from one deck. Then you add another and make players choose. We enjoyed this one on the first play quite a bit in a 2 player game. We worried about how it might play for four. But we will see. We loved the Great Lakes map. The game also has a world map we didn’t try yet.

I read this illustrated version, as I'd only previously read the text version. It seemed shorter, and some parts appeared incomplete or not fully explained, I now need to read the text version again! The illustrations are quite lavish, but Kirby has difficulty drawing Death's head as it seems to be a weird shape, almost as if he has another head behind the skull under his cloak. Still worth a read, but it's not one of Sir Terry's best

Emotive and challenging
I had to take a few days breather before writing a review for this book. It is an truly emotive read, challenging your personal ethics by drawing you into the lives of Louisa and Will. I am not going to elaborate because it will very quickly become spoilery. Suffice it to say that it is very well written, it tackles a significantly poignant issue of the current era and it left me upset, disturbed and satisfied.

I definitely think it's not everyone's cup of tea and quite different to her others but the next two in the series are much more like her other books.
