Terraforming Mars: Prelude
Terraforming Mars: Prelude
2018 | Science Fiction, Space
Prelude is my personal favourite of the Terraforming Mars expansions. It adds a few new cards ands corporations, but most importantly it adds a new starting bonus called preludes. You pick 2 from 4 dealt to you. These can be anything from drawing cards to free terraforming to additional starting resources and production and take the often slow beginning and ratchet it up a few notches. It allows for even more molding and kickstarting of your engine and makes the game flow smoother.

A gaming masterpiece.
The game was one of the earliest games to be solely on PlayStation 3.

The graphics are absolutely superb for a 2007 game, and it hasn't aged in the 12 years it's been available, still as fresh and fun as the day it was released.

The story is exciting and unexpected, most likely drawing inspiration from the Tomb Raider games, featuring guns, puzzles, a rich bad guy, and a mystery to be solved.

"My copy of Ariel [was] given to me when I was twenty. Ariel became the book of my life then, drawing me to a poet with hair worthy of a Breck commercial and the incisive observational powers of a female surgeon cutting out her own heart. With little effort I visualized my Ariel perfectly. Slim, with faded black cloth, that I opened in my mind, noting my youthful signature on the cream endpaper. I turned the pages, revisiting the shape of each poem"
