"The third one I would have to say is The Goonies. [giggles] What isn’t there about it to love? Trying to find a treasure to save your parents when you’re seeing them struggle — which f**king kid wouldn’t understand that or wanna do that, you know? [On who she identified with:] I think it was Sean Astin’s character, the little dreamer. That monologue when they’re all on the well and getting ready to go up and he’s like, “Chester Copperpot!” My sisters and I get together and we drink wine and we watch The Goonies and we quote it… “The next time we see sky, it’ll be in another town!” I love The Goonies."

"True, other Elsa Lanchester albums have her husband Charles Laughton introducing each track, but only this one has both "When a Lady Has a Piazza" and "If You Peek in My Gazebo." Lanchester, most famous for playing the Bride of Frankenstein (technically, the bride of Frankenstein's monster) and Laughton's wife in Witness For The Prosecution, has an actor's voice, with perfect stage-Cockney enunci-OY-tion, which is perfect for this material. "Please sell no more drink to my father. It makes him so strange and so wild. Heed the prayer of my heart-broken mother, and pity the poor drunkard's child." She sings this with such relish, it's easy to see whose side she's really on. "

Another brilliant story in the series

J. P. Sayle never lets me down when it comes to a quality story that pulls a reader into a world they wouldn't usually think about. Hanging with Daddy does just that, it's just outside the mainstream, standard kink but man does the koala thing pop it a few steps further on!

Austin and Gaines are adorable and sweet and totally right for each other but it wouldn't be worth reading without lots of thoughts and decisions.

A great afternoon read with a drink and snacks (my favourite way to read) or if you're traveling crack it open and lose yourself in the pages of a delicious story.
