It's now over 20 years from the original Jurassic Park film, and time has moved on.

In both the real world and the fictional world of this movie.

Set back in the original location of Isla Sorna, this imagines that John Hammond's park has been open to the public for over 20 years: to a public that has largely grown inured to the Dinosaurs and demands a new attraction every 2 years or so.

Enter the genetically engineered hybrid Indominus Rex, which (of course) causes chaos when it gets free of its paddock...

This movie definitely takes its cue from the original film, complete with a pair of siblings lost in the wilderness as the Dino's run amok! For some reason, the effects also seem less impressive than the earlier film (perhaps just because we've gotten used to them? Yes, just like the visitors to the island...), which mixed animatronics with its Special Effects, to great effect.

Jaws 3 is without a doubt, one of those films to file away in the "so-bad-it's-good" section.
The special effects are so awful that they are part of movie legend in this day and age. I must admit to only watching the standard version, but there's a huge part of me that wants to see this in 3-D, just for those shitty effects to hit different. Everything about this entry is corny and cheap to be honest, but its premise is pretty fun. The idea of people getting stuck in SeaWorld with a gigantic shark on the loose suits the overall tone, and the cast embrace the stupidness of it all, even Dennis Quaid doing a weird Han Solo impression for the whole runtime.

Jaws 3 is inherently shite, but I would absolutely watch it again, just for the weird slow motion shot near the end where the shark breaks through that window at 0.2 mph. Chefs kiss.

Good effects for the budget
Full throttle action
A decent indie film experienced entirely in first person view point of the main character. It does feel a bit like a call of duty video game but cranked up to maximum action and speed. The action scenes are crazy as is plot. Along with the thumping sound track this film feels like a roller coaster for the eyes and ears. Definitely worth checking out!

Slasher fan heaven
A pretty cool hack'n'slash film. Almost tongue in cheek at times, it could almost be a spoof of both series of films. The effects are cool and there is plenty of blood for gore fans. Nice to see a recent film starring these two cult film characters giving the fans what they like.
