Sarah (7800 KP) rated Westworld - Season 1 in TV

One of the best new shows out there
There's so many new shows out nowadays that it's difficult to find many that are above average. Westworld however is one of the best new shows I've seen in a long time. It's got a fantastic cast, a great sci-fi plot with lots of twists and turns and some fantastic effects. This first season has been very good and I can't wait to see where they go from here!

Please don't resurrect him again
The 4th installment of the Hatchet series. The first was actually quite good, the 2nd less so and the 3rd was terrible. I really hoped this would be more like the first. Unfortunately it moves more into the comedy Horror area, without being that funny. The cheap rubber doll effects are poor, along with any vague plot in between kills. Unless you like all the Hatchet films I would avoid it.

A good bit of horror with some good effects. This Spanish film is about the spirit of a murdered Nun taking revenge on the people that killed her. As she was drowned and then dumped in a lake, she manifests through water which is a bit different. It's not a bad film, although not the greatest but we'll worth a watch.

Maybe one good character? (1 more)
Special effects
Predictable (3 more)
Trope-y
Lacking a feasible narrative story
Unexplained plot holes
I want my 2 hours back
Where do I start with this movie? If you've seen the trailer, you've seen the entire movie. The story was ridiculously underdeveloped, the characters were boring at best, it was far too predictable, and there were crucial things that needed to be explained that weren't. Don't waste your time with this garbage heap.
The show starts off pretty campy and I thought it was meant to be a spoof. As the series continues the show attempts to be more serious, with a bit of comic relief. All in all, it is not a bad show. The special effects are not in any way cheesy. In my opinion, it would have fared a bit better by deciding what type of show it wanted to be from the beginning and committing.

So much fun
I thought this movie was going to be more "corny", but start to finish this one was just a fun ride. There were some dark parts but they were highly overshadowed by the humor and action. The acting and characters were great and the cinematography/effects were too. It had a few good surprises and the story unfolded beautifully. This one is definitely a good "family movie night" kind of movie. Worth a watch!

Ugh
This movie was weak. The cinematography/effects was the only good part and that was just "ok". The acting was terrible and the storyline didn't seem to know what it wanted to be-a psycho killer movie or a ghost story. I almost stopped watching it halfway through but figured I should at least finish it. I regret that decision. This one is considered a horror movie but there's nothing "horror" about it. NOT worth a watch!

The rock smashed it again
After Dwayne Johnson's previous films, you think he cannot do anything more right, but he does. This film is brilliant, Dwayne plays the part of family man who would do anything for those he loves so well (as we've seen before), the two child actors were fantastic in their roles also and really convincing. All round, the perfect film for anyone into action, adventure and family.

I had high hopes for a more serious Independence day type alien invasion film. This is more like an urban war film that had more in common with a call of duty type video game. The effects are ok, not wowed by the alien design to be honest. It has a good cast who do their best to fight aliens that aren't there, and working with green screens etc. An ok war film, a disappointing alien film.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Saw: The Final Chapter (2010) in Movies

A poor, hopefully final, film in the Saw series. The story wasn't as interesting as the previous ones, the effects actually don't look as good in this film and even the traps are not as well thought out as the other films. I saw it on DVD in 2D but fail to see how many scenes would have been better in 3D? I prefer the 6th one as the final film, this feels like a rushed cash in!
