"Not so much for the guitar work, but what’s represented on this collection is a real tight, small band. Wolf’s nickname was appropriate because he actually sounded like a wild animal when he sang. What an outrageous, maniacal voice! He could’ve been a star of those old Wolfman movies and they wouldn’t have needed any special effects. “He played great harmonica, and he could certainly get with it on the guitar. He had a mystique that came through on record. He could be overwhelming and scary. Not many artists can do that. So I’d call him one of the true originals of the blues. I love this collection. Just to have one big box set that encompasses something like ten different recordings, that’s pretty special."

"It’s this old Hollywood musical variety show type of thing. Really epic Technicolor. There’s an Esther Williams thing in there where she’s just swimming and being beautiful. It’s a beauty-based film. All the money wasn’t popped into special effects, obviously. It was popped into building really grand sets, really great costumes, really, really good makeup. Like, whatever. I saw that in college. One of my friends showed it to me in his apartment. I was like, “What the f— is this?” And then I bought the DVD and [now] I toss it in once a month, at least in the background. I don’t really actually follow the movie straight through. I just kinda fast-forward to the parts that look cool."

Human element of the story wasn't great (0 more)
I've always been a fan of the godzilla films . I grew up watching the toho films and they were just fun and it was more the monsters story than about the humans . The newest ones seem to have reversed that and tried to make more of the humans stories rather than the monsters which let's face it ... we want to see giant monsters kicking each others asses . Thats what the films i loved growing up with were about . The fight scenes in this movie were superb but there just wasn't enough of them and the film was too short as well for my taste. But overall I did enjoy it alot.
